NOAA has it staying above 36 feet in Shreveport through the week. When it crests, it's not gonna fall anytime soon. Will maintain crest levels for days.

Headed there tomorrow to see it. Have a buddy that has full access to places the public can't go. Sad for those affected but looking forward to seeing some history.

My bad. From the write-up it sounded promising. I went to great raft and ate 50 Ki Mexico tacos instead.

I agree, the write up had me thinking it was going to be a solid party.

I was thinking live band, tons of stuff to look at and buy, etc.

I rolled up to one small tent that had 1 fresh vegetable vendor and a few craft/jewelry vendors. The "live music" was a woman playing an acoustic guitar.

There were about 20 people there.

Any groundbreaking updates on the flood? I see the Haven is still pumping out front.

If yall have a chance to drive over Jimmie Davis bridge, the water was even with the top of the retaining wall underneath the bridge at clyde fant yesterday, wildest sight I have seen in a while.

They're pumping about 3 feet out of the front pond and about 8 feet from the back pond, but the streets are totally dry, except a little seepage on the north side from Bickham Dixon lake which apparently has overtaken Mark Roberts' land. Other than that, we're safe and dry.

I drove over Jimmy Davis bridge yesterday- there is water EVERYWHERE! It's really crazy.

ETA: Updated crest is 37.0 ft some time after midnight tonight.

Only thing holding the water back from flooding the Boardwalk and it's already starting to come through. It's rising up that glass wall and I imagine the pressure could bust through that?

Hooters is fricked

I also saw a dead cow near the I-220 Red River bridge turned on its side stiff as a board.

Yeah crest now at 37' and with rain falling this week officials are saying prepare for localized flooding. Doesn't look good and I bet the haven is sweating.

It's pretty close! Our HOA has been busting their asses filling in every leaky hole and low spot to make sure that no water gets in to the neighborhood. They get a huge from this resident!

I find it hard to feel bad for people who build INSIDE the levee. You KNOW IT WILL FLOOD at some point.

It is absolutely asinine.

Yeah there are some nice houses in the haven but I wouldn't want to ever be inside the levee nor would I want a house with Locke homes involved, but maybe that's just me.

bullshite- I live in the Haven and I haven't heard anything about an evacuation. From what we've heard, 37.5 is the magic number in our neighborhood, and that's just the lowest house in the subdivision.

This is almost correct, but the number is 38 feet. At least according to my moms, husband. They live by that pond thing across the oxbow. Said the pond is going down, but the oxbow is not.

You're making way too much out of that levee. It was a WPA project during the depression. It's not exactly functional like the Mississippi River levee. Those houses are all above 100 year flood levels. What about downtown Shreveport? No levee protecting that.

Supposed to rain tuesday-satutday and that's not counting rainfall north that will travel down river.

Looks like it could crest higher than 37ft.
