My number got exposed about 3 weeks ago and get 30 spam calls a day now. Had 42 one day.
Every number is local and different so no point in blocking.

Not sure what to do, I registered my number under the do not call list and had to silence all unknown calls but it’s very frustrating.

I laugh everytime I get the (985) call from Montegut, La. The Patterson, La. call is just annoying.

Hmmmmm I have TextNow and Google numbers to frick with scammers. I find they don't "work" on Sundays (at least the Indian ones).

Legitimate answer:

There are no laws regarding spam calls that are actively being enforced. It’s not on the radar.

I kinda miss the old days with long distance and international charges. Those charges would stop this from happening.

But with modern IP based phones, calling anywhere in the world is free. Nothing can be done to stop someone from India calling you. Our spam laws do not apply over there.

Your phone will let you set a whitelist so only people in your contacts can call. However, this sucks if you need people not on your contacts to call you (like if you run a business).

Set your phone to "do not disturb" you can allow calls/texts etc only from people in your contacts.

This is the only thing that has brought me peace. I still have to consciously clear out my voice mail though.

Not much you can do aside from changing phone numbers. I think once you answer one of their calls they flag your number somehow.

Yea this is my problem

As much as I hate doing it I pay like $3.99/month for At&T Active armor and it helps a good bit. It's not perfect but way better than before

Honestly it's getting a little too much lately and it would be great if maybe the Trump admin could add this to the list of things to fight..

Yeah blocking does no good. I either don’t answer or send the call to voicemail.
