"These teenagers have no fear of consequences and no respect for authority," the chief said. "I'm not putting all the blame on the school faculty but when we hear a student saying he can do what he wants without consequence, there seems to be a lack of authority problem. This cannot happen and expect positive results. There needs to be a strict discipline enforcement and for ALL students and ALL teachers and principals need to be on the same page with it." After this morning's fight, three girls and one boy, all teens, were arrested. Several other student were involved, but haven't been identified. Boudreaux said he expects them to be identified by the use of the school's surveillance cameras, and more arrests will be made once that is done.

"The high school keeps us busy but this school year had been worse than normal," he said. "We've had teachers arrested for sleeping with students, we made several arrests for drugs, weapons and even a couple of bomb threats. We are constantly being called there for fights. Something has to be done, from the inside, to gain the respect back from the students."

Maybe they should stop bussing kids from Opelousas over to Port Barre and shut that school down like they should have when they built North Central.

Shitty parents who don't discipline their children and always blame everyone but their child have finally won. Raising hell for every little thing anyone in authority did to n discipline their children has finally caught up to them. Now teachers are afraid to try anything.

Lets just say the mother is covered in tattoos and her high school son has tattoos as well.

They look like exactly like someone that would sneak you from the back and steal your shoes.

Authority has to earn respect. Maybe the authority needs to look in the mirror

Well there was a parent on KATC the other night saying the punishments were too harsh. Her son, who was a saint, got expelled.

I'm rather impressed with how you manage to out-dumb yourself each and every day.

Arresting high schoolers for school fights, if not deadly, is the largest waste of tax payer resources. I'd ask for a tax refund if I lived in that parish.

Go fight real crime Bruh. If the authorities at the schools can't handle or discipline the students, they shouldn't be teaching. We need strong men and women with character and principles teaching our kids. Not chucks and betas

This happens in Ascension and EBR as well.

However, it was the arrest of her son that really surprised her. She said her son was arrested after he questioned police officers while they were arresting his sister. “He is quiet. He never gets in trouble,” said Sinette. This is her son’s senior year. After the fight he was expelled from school. Sinette said this will prevent him from attending his senior prom. “They are treating them like menaces. It’s just heartbreaking,” said Sinette.

Waste of tax payers moneys there too.

I'm not saying parents should play their part, but it's not always on the kid. Some of these teachers suck
