Once again you are wrong. The only thing we know for certain is 8 officers were able to make a peaceful arrest at the request of a business
For you to claim "excessive" at all let's me know you should never be taken serious in a thread about cops.
Please, do show me the evidence that I am wrong in saying these two guys did not resist arrest or commit violence. I will wait.
ETA: I'm still waiting for you to tell me how saying something didn't happen when there is no evidence, or even claim, that it happened makes me wrong. I do want to see this.

Did someone actually say it was violent? While two sides could easily argue about other things, it was anything but violent. The guys gave themselves up pretty peacefully.

If the left hates the police so much, then they can keep their tax payer dollars at the expense of not having police protection. I’m sure they would be in utopia immediately.
You do what so many posters on this site are guilty of, which is rushing to judgement. You keep typing words and associating them with police protocol, even suggesting these guys will get paid. Who is going to pay them? If the cops were indeed called, they are not going to pay in court for arresting two men without a confrontation. When a black police chief backs them, he has a bit of merit in my opinion, as well. He and the Dallas police chief from a couple of years ago know how to take this ‘color’ thing and throw it out the window, causing people like you to get a bit unsettled.
If this means SO much to you, go protest in Philadelphia.

quote:They did that. The original officers spoke with the manager and the two men
What the cops could have and should have done is speak to the manager and do some conflict resolution informing the manager that someone is on the way to meet them here for coffee.
The original officers then called their supervisor who came and who also spoke to the manager....
At this point, the manager still asked the supervisor to please arrest the two men who refused to leave
Keep in mind, the time that must have taken place for the men to use the restroom, the employees to call the original cops, And then the original cops to call their supervisor to show up....
And when the manager asks for the two non paying customers to leave, the supervisor at this point has to do job. He did what his duty is.

so you believe everything you read on the internet?

Why is this even a story?
Men were rightfully asked to leave, they didn’t, police eventually intervened and made it happen.
There’s not a story here IMO.

But this thread is living proof they really are in a thankless no win situation with some people
The thing that goes unmentioned most often is how FLUID EACH situation is. Every traffic stop, every domestic, every trespass is wide open. It's odd, going to a murder scene is likely LESS hair raising...The shite has already gone down.

I’ve got better things to do. I’ll just sit here and argue with you. It seems pretty important to you as well. And You are rushing to judgment as well; you adamantly stated they will not get paid. That’s just as much judgment as me stating that will get paid. Your judgment just differs from mine and you are unable to accept different judgments or opinions without getting all revved up. So yes, this is a very important issue to you.

Starbucks obviously has a policy and it’s strickly enforced
That's completely false. I was at the Starbucks on Jefferson and Freret last Sunday and some girl who was dressed like she just finished a workout came and walked straight to the restroom and didn't order anything

I will add a personal story
Keep in mind I am very white
I once had a bouncer on bourbon street "threaten to skin me alive" as he physically threw me out the bar for trying to use their restroom during Mardi Gras

You have a source for this statement?

Most employees don't give a shite if you walk in, use the restroom and then leave. If you're going to sit there for a while, not order anything and then use the restroom you're probably going to catch the attention of the employees though.

Did the manager ask her 3 times to leave?
Did she sit down and just hang out?
Sometimes people slip through the cracks. I’ve gone into gas stations and restaurants just to take a leak plenty of times, but I’m quick and don’t just hang out afterwards.

Everyone wants to keep the race baiting bullshite alive and well. I think idiots in this country are addicted to this constant"outrage". They're black, so it's gotta be racism!

When will people learn the difference between being arrested and being detained? I doubt these guys went to jail.
