Jena High School

Maybe for the More Sports Board, but will get more views here. Kim Mulkey at Tech would have fit right in.

I think messing up the warm-up routine would have made me more nervous than blowing the game.

Pretty damn impressive. A little Harlem Globetrotters vibe to it.

LIES! There were clearly black females there but I have been assured that Jena is chock full of racists. #Jena6

Do you think they would have been empowered by the converse commercial?

GERALDINE S. “JELLY” PIGOTT
For eighteen years Geraldine S. “Jelly” Pigott guided the Lady Giants of Jena to prominence. During that time, she won six state championships and three runner-up titles, forever enshrining the Lady Giants as the premiere girls basketball program in Louisiana.

Pigott came to Jena High School after coaching at Dry Prong, Selma, and Greensburg, Mississippi, and took a new program at Jena and turned it into one that was revered and feared across the state.

She coached the Jena Lady Giants from 1952 to 1969, winning state championships in 1956, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1967, and 1969, and state-runner-up titles in 1963, 1966, and 1968. In her 39 years of coaching, her teams never had a losing season

One the most dominant stretches in LA basketball history

LSU-E

LSU-E tries to duplicate their drill and fails. I can understand Jena taking hours upon hours of practice, but LSU-E simply has shitty handling skills. In a real game game, I have no doubt that 1969 Jena team would have wiped the floor with these overweight idiots.

When my nearby Class C boys team played Jena in tourneys, their girls no longer performed those drills in the mid to late-70s. I guess it stopped when their coach left in 1969.
