Your people’s singular victory over we’uns.
We screwed y’all’s eyeballs out in ‘53 with the Gadsden Purchase.

Chose to defend the Alamo when there was a more suitable fortification in San Antone.
Conflict between Travis and Bowie over who was in command. More than one leader = no leaders.
Defied orders from Sam Houston to abandon the Alamo and rejoin the main Texan army.
They were brave but they were a bunch of rank amateurs who died needlessly.
The victory at San Jacinto was primarily due to officers and NCO's from the US. 2nd Infantry Regiment across the river in Louisiana who were allowed to temporarily "resign" and provide needed backbone to Houston's ragtag outfit.
I'll give Texans credit, they're unparallelled at mythmaking.

Yeah, after that drunk skipped town in Alabama, leaving his family and a pile of debts behind.

You know why the Mexicans fought so hard for the Alamo?
Four clean walls to spray paint.
