No, I don't. I pay a lot of taxes (Texas has high property taxes). But, we spend a lot of money prosecuting death penalty cases to conclusion.
I'm open-minded on this subject, the older guy who was the libertarian from SNL (I'm drawing a blank on his name) said on a youtube video I saw that "every so often we need to thin the herd." What value to our "herd" does this 18 year old have? None. So it does make one reconsider.

To me, easily the saddest part of the story:
Her last thought was the guilt of knowing she was dying and leaving her 3 kids motherless. She apologized to them before dying right before them.
That makes my heart hurt.

Pretend you’re one of the kids in the back seat and your mom just took a bullet to the head. What side you on now. Because if that doesn’t 100% switch you, you have a mental disorder.
That’s the problem with a large % of society, the “Well if it happened to me I’d be on the other side” approach. It’s failed logic

Since jail/death penalty is no longer a deterrent to these type of crimes, what is the answer?

I disagree with the death penalty part. Jail doesn't seem to be a deterrent. It's become their norm. But if society had a true death penalty punishment that would be fairly administered, and carried out timely and often, this stuff would lessen. Those scared arse pussies don't wanna die. They'll thug it and love it in jail with their homies. But they are scared to death of being put down like the dogs that they are.
Problem is, SJW's will fight to the death on having a timely death sentence carried out. So the thugs know they have a minimum of 20 years to thug it with their boys, and a high chance that a liberal court will overthrow their death sentence.
Business as usual...

I'll never understand in certain cases (like this one) why anyone would have a problem with the death penalty or why it shouldn't be carried out immediately for all to see.
