New Mexico high school wrestler Canaan Bower is making headlines this week after helping to stop an alleged kidnapping and assault in Lac Cruces, NM. 22 year old Daniel Arroyo Beltran of Phoenix, Arizona, was arrested after witnesses said he tried to kidnap three children at Chucky's Gas Station in Doña Ana. Beltran is also assaulted several patrons and employees who tried to intervene. The apparent random attack didn't stop until Bower entered the affray and was able to control Beltran within seconds.

One guy trying to take 3 kids? Seems not that random.

If random, that is scary AF...plans to sell them?

The first guy that intervened needed to realize that he was in a fight whether he wanted to be or not. He kept trying to keep the other guy at arms distance as if he would just stop. At some point, you gotta fight back.

Wrestling teaches very valuable skills. Wrestled some in high school. Only time I got in a bar fight, it was with a guy who was a black belt and a known bad arse. That wrestling I learned helped me get his arse on the ground and lock him up. That karate didn't help much once I got my hands on him.

Good job young man. Guy with the tan jacket is a gigantic puss. Just left the women and children to fend for themselves. Could’ve at least jumped in and helped once the kid had him pinned.

The kid is actually German. They're trained for this kind of thing at a young age.

That young dude is making all the Baw's proud. And how about big girl in Orange coming in at the end. It looks like she may have given him the ole' hand stomp!

Dont be hard on tan jacket, he at least tried to help when many soy boys would have ran. He just had no idea what he was doing. Good thing ole corn fed country boy showed up.

Zero tolerance killed the everyday badass. Good to see a few kids can hold their own these days.
