It’s a fact for the past couple decades, and is the overwhelming minority

Truth. Everyone acts like having kids means they'll take care of you when you're older when in fact you mortgage the prime of your life and there's equal chance your kids are frick ups or don't like you when you're old.

All this is true, but most people still have a drive to have children.

that's a reason not to have 10 kids

B) we have the technology to have as much sex as we want without it leading to kids.

that raises many questions about how we should value/approach sex. we only have about 50 years of this experiment but it hasn't led to these amazing/positive results. with the explosion of porn, it's leading to some actual negative results

we can no longer assume that "free sex" has no negative consequences. so while that is an argument, it's not one we should just accept blindly

So narcissistic and selfish. Is this the way to go through life ? Thinking only of oneself ? Are those 16 things more important than a little person ? Please, whoever made this list, do NOT have a child. (Don't worry, the muslims are having tons of children so you can live under their sharia in a couple of decades)

that's one of those studies that would probably never be allowed to occur in modern academia. could you imagine the outrage if urban or childless people were shown to be narcissists at higher rates?

They wouldn't like it, that's for sure. But I see no reason an IRB would block it.

Thinking about it more, we're probably looking at three subpopulations -- parents, current non-parents, and "never parents." The difference between the second and third groups being that current non-parents just haven't had kids yet (for whatever reason), while the never parents are opposed to parenthood.

I don’t have kids.

I’m not cut out to be a father.

When you start getting old and you’re single, you do have to come to grips that you’re going to die alone.

don’t care what these people do, but one thing i hate is the smug superiority the child free people have towards people with kids

This is very true. One of my work counterparts is a mid 50's woman. A new person cant have a conversation with her without her dropping in her choice not to have a kid.

I dont understand why it's so important to her but she makes sure everybody else does. When I have to speak with her she will ask how my son is. When I respond back she always says shite like "living my best life, no kids to take care of"

End of the day She seems real insecure about it, but she try's to frame it that she's superior.

I told you 10 years ago you should search out countries you can fish etc.

Congrats on expanding.

Who knows, in 10 years you might go to Europe and not fish at all.

That being said, I will be up in your neck of the woods for the Saints@Seahawks game in September

I haven't decided if I'm going yet. A million plus silver salmon are predicted for my area. Speaking of....fishing trip baw.

I'll either be listening to the game on the boat or at the game.
