Well your social radar is way off, as usual. He's an actor and a bad one.

I just prefer narcissists and people who don't want children to not have children. I think that's a very fair statement.

I don’t care what these people do, but one thing i hate is the smug superiority the child free people have towards people with kids. Just read the child free reddit

I thought all of that was great until I had one myself. With all the hassle and frustration parenting can bring, the joy and purpose they bring is worth every second of it.

Millions of years, her DNA ate and fricked to continue living. It experianced Africa, and didnt like that shite and walked out. Beat the barbians, Romans, plagues, droughts, etc. But all of those things combined couldn't beat digital technology. RIP her DNA line.

Nobody is jealous of your childfree life. In the long run, people with kids will be much happier when they’re middle aged or older. And raising successful kids is one of the greatest accomplishments you can achieve in life. Anyone without kids is missing out on that (and some shitty parents)

I'm not suggesting anyone here not have kids. This thread was simply aimed at like-minded folks who are doing DINK things, or living their best single life.

I think people loving and raising children is a fantastic thing. Great parents are obviously great for society and I'm glad it makes people happy. It's just not what I want.

The acrimony here is due to parents who can't fathom the idea of living a happy life free of children, and don't like that everyone doesn't subscribe to their worldview.

meaning it occurs with equal frequency in both parent and non-parent populations.

that would be an interesting study

your sample would be incredibly important b/c too much of an urban/rural skew will drastically skew the results

The decision to have kids could be motivated by narcissism just as much as the decision to not have kids.

these rates would be nowhere near the same. i'd imagine well over half of pregnancies are not intentional at all

Who's to say that a cockroach has enough brains to decide that the act of mating is not him wanting children, but him wanting his dick wet?

At the end of the day we are animals, and we want to put our pecker in a vagina because the offspring that come forth feel really good when they do.

I see where you're coming from and agree, but I smell what he's stepping in as well: From a purely biological sense, no creature on earth who can propagate it's own kind is here to not do just that. We've just figured out ways to get that reproduction feeling without the result of reproducing.

Plus we've spiced it up a bit.

why do YOU feel YOU are so special (or important) that YOU are the one to buck this trend?

When you put it like that my gut reaction is to say because I have a rebellious streak and as soon as someone tells me I have to do something I immediately don’t want to do it.

Outside of that, under the right circumstances I would consider having kids but don’t feel like in 2019 it’s the the same imperative it used to be because:

A) modern society means you don’t need kids to help out on the farm anymore and;

B) we have the technology to have as much sex as we want without it leading to kids.

It has nothing to do with me being special at all.

What if I told you there are people out there who are married without kids because they either physically can not, or are honest enough with themselves to know they would not make good parents?

I do not disagree with you here, but that’s not what pecker head is talking about.

that's one of those studies that would probably never be allowed to occur in modern academia. could you imagine the outrage if urban or childless people were shown to be narcissists at higher rates?
