I was the stadium announcer/web broadcast play-by-play guy for a minor league soccer team here in Shreveport. That team has folded....but it was kinda fun while it lasted

Was in a fancy rooftop restaurant in Boston with customers on a business trip in 1985. The group was me (technical geek) one of our sales guys and two folks (Tech guy and a purchasing agent) representing the customer.

We were about half way through dinner when an old guy began choking at the table beside ours. His wife was going berserk and no one was doing anything.

I got up and by that time, he was on head on the table passed out. I looked into his mouth, thinking he had swallowed his dentures or something and saw a big (much too big) piece of steak, stuck in the back. I jerked him up and did a Heimlich maneuver on him. The steak came zinging out and (thank goodness) he took a huge breath and began to start changing back toward a better color.

The elderly wife was crying. The waiters were about to cry. The manager was about to cry, and I was doing all I could to be cool, since our customers were sitting there, jaws dropped.

They carried the old guy away, the restaurant wanted to comp my meal, and I assured them it was a business meal and the company was already paying. I always thought it was funny that they didn't offer to pay the entire tab, just mine.

We finished dinner, and every time our waiter walked by, he stopped again to thank me. When we finished, the manager walked us out of the place thanking me.

The next day, the president of the company we were calling on dropped by from the corporate offices down the street and wanted to meet me and our call went just fine.

The salesman who was with me got the commission.

I won a case of Powerade at the Tigers' baseball game the other night, for what that's worth.

ETA: In 2000, I was mentioned in an Advocate article about ULL fans in Omaha.

I wish I could find it on internet someday.

I'm surprised I never had a Brockmire moment. I was basically paid to be the announcer in 6 packs of corrupt which I would all but kill in the span of a game.

My parents and I did a 15-20 minute infomercial for Memphis Taekwondo around 1990. It aired on a local tv station at 6:30 am on a Saturday morning

Used to work Dallas Mavs games. My parents would watch for me on Fox Sports Southwest. My mom thought she saw me during nearly every game. She'd ask if I was wearing a blue shirt that night. It usually wasn't me, but sometimes it could have been. If they'd lived in the DFW area, they could have seen me in the media fray during the locker room interviews after the games. People at work used to tell ne they saw me.

After one playoff game, a German journalist, I'm friends with, texted me about seeing me take my digital recorder to the interview table, and hearing me ask Dirk a question on the ESPN News post-game presser. He said he was in bed with his GF, and told her, "That's the guy that loaned me $50 last season."

The next day I went in to work at my regular advertising job, and told my coworkers I was a worldwide phenomena because I had fans in Germany!

One time when Dirk and Michael Finley were in the interview room during the playoffs, and I got tongue-tied in the middle of asking Dirk a question, Finely asked me if I was speaking German.

When the Mavs lost two games in a row in March during their 67-15 2006-2007 season, the editor I was writing for wanted me to ask Avery Johnson about the way the schedule was playing out. Avery had a Jim Mora moment when he answered, "Schedule, schedule, schedule?"

All of the regular media guys said it was the most animated he'd been in a couple of seasons.

There was a video with sound, but several searches for it, lead me to believe it no longer exits. You could hear me finishing the question under the first "Schedule."

That was my dream when I was a kid, to eat popeyes and watch cartoons on a Saturday morning, I was so jealous of those kids. Years ago I was selling my house and my real estate agent was from New Orleans, one day while talking she told me she was on the show with her girl scout troop, I told her about my childhood dream and that's when she ruined it, told me they filmed that shite on a Thursday afternoon

still wish I could have been on the show
