It could still happen. While it’s very necessary to crank up our economy again, we don’t know that this won’t result in an accelerated spread of the disease to vulnerable people who were protected by the measures we’ve taken to this point. The pandemic is not over. It’s just in another phase.

Trump did not create the models, he is trusting science. By using the models, he gets to claim a huge victory while being correct it was not as bad as thought.

It's what the models said so I don't know how you can blame him. Models are based off of past performance and I don't think the models were capable of predicting how effecting of a leader Trump is. He saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Can you imagine if we had a President that thought travel bans were racist?
