I'm not doubting you...but

I've lived in AP all my life and know tons of people and I've never heard of anyone (recently) allowing 14 year olds drive a car. Now I drove my dad's jeep in the 80s when I was 14, but he was in the vehicle with me. But, there was very little vehicle traffic and approx. 40k people living in the AP at that time.

I’ve done it for over thirty years. Yes, I’ve had more than one close call. But if you go through your life afraid of doing what you love to do, are you really living?

I agree. It was always dangerous, but no way I’m turning what should be a fender bender into a potentially fatal accident by riding a motorcycle with all the distacrikns today’s drivers face.

The big danger in riding at night comes from nocturnal animals. Hitting something a big old armadillo, skunk, or even worse a deer at 60 MPH on a bike can ruin your evening in a hurry.

Not that it matters, but why were two 40 year old dudes riding a motorcycle together?

The name Dusty make you assume it was 2 guys on a bike?

I get your point, but the people on the Harley were 2 people lawfully minding their own business. The same fate would have met them had they been in a car. They happened to cross paths with one idiot at the wrong time.

Sad thing is more than likely nothing will happen and it will all be chalked up to an "accident" and bleeding hearts will say he's only 14, sending him to prison will ruin his life and he'll come out a hardened criminal.

IDK know what should happen it's vary likely that the parents, If there are any active in his life, failed him if he's out at 2 am driving, but I won't rule out that it was just a 14 year old who knew better but said frick it. just sad all around.

I don't know how widespread that is, but one thing that I do see a lot of is underaged kids riding 4-wheelers around neighborhood streets like we used to ride bikes when we were kids. It annoys me, and I am not sure why. It is almost like the kids are fitting a "you are soooo Ascension Parish if...." agenda by riding a 4 wheeler around the neighborhood.
