Well there have been bullies since the beginning of time. Are they being made fun of by their classmates? Again, that’s always happened as well. The cute girl shoot them down when they asked her out? Again, nothing new.
Yes and No. I'm old. The bullies in my day didn't follow me home. Once I got out of school, I was in the clear for the most part.
Now, someone can spend all day making your life miserable at school, then they can ridicule you on Facebook and all other forms of social media.
Seems like at some point in my lifetime, kids decided they weren't just going to commit suicide, they were going to take the folks laughing at them out too.

Feel so bad for that community. Marshall County hoop fest is one of the best high school tournaments in the country.
Shooters name and picture is floating around on twitter(not official though).

kid went up to catch a pass over the middle. I went up and just about took off the kids head while trying to “break up the pass”. Knocked his arse down and he stayed down for a little while in pain.
I didn’t mean to do it as a scare tactic or anything but from that moment on they left me alone.
Whole point of the story is this; I was picked on, i stood up for myself, and showed the bullies if they were going to keep picking on me, it would get physical.
You didn't stand up for yourself. You took a cheap shot to a kid going across the middle.

Well, we definitely know from his Melissa McCarthy body type that bullying is at least part of the motive.
It certainly wasn't getting too much pussy that put him over the edge.

This is a sad sad day in the United States. The second consecutive day of domestic terrorism at schools.

If the pic and name going around on twitter is right, and it looks like it is, it was a 9th/10th grade tuba/trombone player in the band.
Also there's talk of a hit list that was made in 2016?
Locals are saying the shooter was the same kid who made the hit list in 2016 and was only suspended for 2 days.

I've got a idea. More guns!!!

quote:What has changed are the core values that once upon a time held us together - respect for human life - code of behavior = 10 Commandments, faith in God, and “Do unto others...” valued - families stayed together - sense of community responsibility, accountability for one’s actions - to name a few of the relics of the past century that have been broadly overturned by moderns and replaced by self-serving materialism as the new core value “if it feels good, do it” and entitlement thinking as only real basis for judging right from wrong. Collapse inevitable.
So what’s changed? What issues are kids facing nowadays that in their mind warrant taking a gun to school and start blasting away?

When I went to school it wasn’t uncommon for 1/2 the guys to have guns in their trucks/cars during hunting season. The thought to use them on other students just didn’t exist.

Medic, you are good at finding statistics.
Do most school shootings happen at public schools?

1) People are lazy in all aspects of their lives. The first sign of adversity triggers a “my life is ruined” mentality. Things come too easily for most young people today...they don’t know how to deal with failure or rejection.
2) Citizens have been brainwashed into thinking their opinion means more than it should. When they aren’t taken seriously they become triggered.
3) We expect instant results. When it doesn’t happen depression sets in quickly. The news media, social media, soft parenting, and lazy parenting are all equally at fault.
sums it up pretty nice for me

They need to get rid of the entire school admin staff and school board for that matter if true.

I can't find an exact number, someone with the time could go through the list and check, but everything I'm seeing says the ratio of public to private school shootings is huge.
The council for private education found this:
Report: Private schools more than twice as safe as public schools
The council for private education found this:
quote:
Chance of Gang Presence: 2% of Private Schools – 19% of Public Schools
Chance of Odds of Becoming a Victim of Crime: 2% at a Private School – 4% of Public Schools
Chance of Physical Attack by another Student: 3% at Private Schools – 6% of Public Schools
