I've been to the haunted house in the past, but I was wondering if anyone has gone to one of the Escape rooms they have and if it is worth the money? Also which one you would suggest.

I've been to a few in NOLA, haven't been to the gate yet, but they are fun. Make sure you split up to find clues, never all work on one thing.

Look for things that need to be opened or solved and work back from there.

We did "The Collector" which is basically like being in Silence of the lambs and other horror movies similar to that.

It was fun. Teamwork is definitely a premium. I think the max group size is 8, I would get 8 people so you don't get matched up with some dumb randos like we did....Also, use the clues. You'll understand what I mean when you get there.

If you finish in under an hour, you did a good job.

It is pretty neat.
Took a group of 12 year olds and they loved it.
Some are more scary than others.
We did Death Row.
They have reviews of each on the website which is helpful depending on if you are worried about a younger age group.
My group got to the very end and just missed not finishing. They all said they would do that some one again.

How expensive is it? The one in NOLA I look at was around 35$ a person

I think it's a bit overpriced for just an hour of entertainment... Brickyard South gives you a free drink if you show them your Escape receipt. I suggest drinking after; we took our free drink (and several additional drinks) before we did the Escape and it did not work out real good for us. Four drunk married couples trying to "Escape" - why did we ever think that would be a good idea??

I've done a couple of them the past couple months. We finished Death Row with a lot of penalties (use them clues if you have to). We got stuck at the very end of the Collector. We were rolling right through it and finishing things very fast but just couldn't get it done.

Highly recommend though. It was a lot of fun. Try to find 8 people you know to bookup the time slot so you aren't stuck in a group of people that you don't know.
