Your thread title tossed away any sense of impartiality on this, so stop whining when called out.

My thread title is correct. Are you trying to implying the priest is not upset with this?

I mean the OT seems to be acting like a bunch of pearl clutching baptists.

The priest is more just pointing out to his parishioners that they shouldn't be involved with it

Anyone remember the haunted house in the LSU dorm? Probably predates the Carnevil stuff in the Cow Palace by 5 years. I remember those being pretty decent as well.

Aspercel and GRT jumped on any opinion they didn’t like and filled the thread with their banter.

She’s been getting a girl boss high for almost a full 24 hours at this point.

Ah yes, the seance. That ancient ritual from the 1800s originating as a parlor game and run by charlatans to bilk money from desperate grieving people. There are much realer bugaboos to worry about than some "ancient" gibberish with rubber masks. Necronimicon? Made up. Wiccan? Made up. It's as powerful, mystical and magical as my own made up malarkey. An Anti-Witch Spell May your nose ring get infected, And the crystals you've collected, Not cure all your STDs, May your cooter grow a cheese, May, when your bald tires pop, Only MAGA white men stop, May you, in your frustration bask, When no one wants to wear a mask, May you be served smaller portions, Never get to have abortions, May you, when tough times are had, Be forced to ask for help from dad, May you have awful horoscopes And no one sell you dankest dope, May you be always unemployed, Enjoy a thrombosed hemorrhoid! A horrid pain, inside your rear, My spell is powerful I fear! But I'm afraid my awful curse, Is only gonna to get much worse, May you lack strength, to open jars, Dead batteries in all your cars, Two hours late to all your plans, May no men join your OnlyFans

“There are bigger things to worry about”…comes into thread to post about smaller things he/she shouldn’t worry about.

Could have done without the poetry.

So did you. You came in hot with your “a seance is real no matter what it claims to be” nonsense.

I made some comments but didn’t invest as much time and energy as they did.

Are there people who think that the Pastor of this church is wrong? I don't think so, given what I see in the thread. Most people seem to agree that any Pastor of any church might understandably advise his flock to stay away from 13th Gate show.

Correct, and all he said was "until they drop that portion" or whatever.

And then 13th dude evidently claims threats and then deleted his posts. I personally never saw them.

I dont believe anyone threatened anyone, and it is ok, and theologically correct to agree with the priest, just as it is fine to disagree and go to the gate.

Yes. Mainly because he doesn’t understand what he is complaining about.

13th guy mentioned Facebook posts with threats. So you would not have seen them in this thread. I’m not sure why he deleted his posts.

It’s weird that this specific portion is what has caused concern though. The other simulated horrors seem to be fine.

Never saw or heard of a threat either. It seemed like the gate owner was just trying to take advantage of “any publicity is good publicity”.

He replied to my question with a big PR/ Marketing statement instead of acknowledging anything I asked.

Are you shocked by this? He was promoting your business, and your questions were obnoxious.

Man I’ll have to get an attorney to get my piece of the pie, didn’t know I had a “stake” in 13th gate

Still find it funny that someone who deals in fear was still afraid of my question.

Uh, what? What do you mean by this?

This is obnoxious too. You must think very highly of yourself. Sometimes people just ignore obnoxious questions. You’re not the arbiter of the veracity of someone’s faith, no matter how much you may think that you are.

You said he was promoting my business. I was just making a joke off of your writing error.

I found it interesting that he claimed to be Baptist yet runs a haunted house. I asked a question on how what he does serves God if he claims to be what he is.

I asked a question and that makes me an arbiter for the veracity of someone’s faith?

I don’t have too high of an opinion of myself. Quite the opposite. I’ll throw some risky jokes here and there like any fun poster but I try to be humble.

Yes, because the priest is flipping out about what is akin to a stage play, and not an actual seance.

It's actors, following a written script with sound effects and other practical effects meant to give on an experience.

He may as well write a follow-up saying his parishioners should avoid scary movies as well.
