Was there a checkpoint yesterday?

Who names their child "Major Jones" and DOESN'T expect them to get DWI's?

With the overwhelming majority of them also charged with offenses that threaten public safety on the roads (improper lane usage, reckless driving, failure to signal, driving with no headlights), I'd say the police did a good job.

No. Checkpoints, by law, have to be announced at least 24 hours in advance.

They were probably driving with expired inspection stickers

i think it's kinda messed up that they make y'all pick up trash, I thought we had prisoners for that

Yeah it sucks. I've had to do a ton of litter duties on Saturdays and Sunday's because of all of the DWIs I've had. I've had the same supervisor 3 times so we've become friends. He actually tailgates with me now. The same supervisor found a brown bag full of cash near scotlandville. He ended up buying me Burger King one day.

Who would have guessed that the old guys are also stoners?

hopefully one day you can get a cute lady supervisor. It'd be like the movies where y'all are both picking up papers and kinda bump into each other and then one thing leads to another

The DWI racket in Louisiana long ago stopped being about public safety.
Everyone wins except the driver. The DA who gets the conviction, the trooper that gets the arrest, and the lawyers that make beaucoup $$$. Not to mention the grants and fines the jurisdiction makes from every arrest.
