I saw the video. Sad. She was crying she was sorry for all kinds of things. Sorry for being worthless and other things. Sad.

1. Girls 11-death can be the nicest or meanest creatures on God's green earth

2. So sad that the little girl did not comprehend the love and value and beauty that she brought to the world

Will be a growing trend in the future. Kids faced pressure at school but could come home to a loving home. A lot of kids today come home to family drama, pressure to be perfect in school and sports, and to measure up to their parents expectations. I can't imagine the self worth issues in kids today.

For goodness sakes adults just let your kids be kids and not make them feel like they have to measure up to your unrealistic expectations.

What I never understand about this site, or America in general, is their lack of concern or compassion for those with mental illness

If I started a thread saying "pray for me, I have cancer." I would get overwhelming support.

If I started a thread saying "I have terrible depression, please pray for me." I would get called a pussy and told to suck it up.

And the outside is the same way in America.

Marriott Marque NYC (attrium)has a few jumpers a year. They just keep it hushed.

Damn that video is surreal. I don't know why I subject myself to watching crap like that.

Kids have always faced tremendous pressure. Self worth issues are not new. Everything isn't a generational problem.

Would never argue this because I will admit to not knowing everything - but in MY experience, depression is usually a self inflicted wound.. if people knew how to control their thoughts and knew how to stop manifesting so much negativity, most of the cases of depression would be nonexistent..

I've been to the DR twice in my life dealing with 'depression'.. as soon as I stopped feeling sorry for myself and motivated myself to make a positive change in my life, the depression magically went away. All I needed was a kick in the arse and a wake up call to stop feeling so god damn sorry for myself and do something about it

So I guess you can lump me in the category of people who believe that MOST cases of depression are just for attention or just a self pity party

So why the frick would you take to the Internet to broadcast your suicide attempt and garner attention but then still carry it out? That doesn't seem to make much sense
To show your pain to everyone since no one would pay attention to it before.

Just watched the video, very sad! It looks like cyber bullying. I'd prosecute to the fullest extent of the law on this one.

I'm happy for you that you beat your 'depression', but I can assure you, for many people it takes MUCH MUCH more than a 'kick in the arse'. Please don't patronize or trivialize such a dark thing that most people, including doctors and scientists, still don't fully understand.

It just seems customary that most suicide incidents occur in privacy and away from the company of the others.

So why the frick would you take to the Internet to broadcast your suicide attempt and garner attention but then still carry it out? That doesn't seem to make much sense.
You're searching for something rational and logic with a 12 year old girl who committed suicide. Why would you even begin to think you can understand the why behind that decision she made?
