At very least make the dog alert, unless she was the lamb while 200 pounds rolled past her being stopped.

I understand how this works going through the border but how would you do this on a trip from Texas to Florida with a truck carrying more drugs following you?

She just saw the cops in st TAMMANY and just started driving like an a-hole? It doesn’t make sense in a state to state drive to have a “fall guy.” Just consider the logistics of having a rabbit for a 500 mile trip where both can get pulled over as easily as the other

Someone ratted on her. Either that, or she was a sacrificial lamb for a big shipment.

There's a 0% chance she got pulled over for following too close

I’ve been pulled over for expired tags several times in that area, I’m not sure why that’s so hard to believe. It’s not some random Mexican girl transporting coke has to be a criminal genius

Or don't do this

These aren’t random stops. Somebody tips off the cops and they use a traffic stop to obtain probable cause.

Anecdotal, but I haven't ever been pulled over for expired tags, and I grew up there. It's not something they can see when you're just driving by going 70

A lot of the time, a low level informant or someone just caught will let cops know when a shipment will be passing through. State police or sheriffs will wait by the highway and pull over the person for some minor violation and get the drugs. That's why you'll occasionally see 3-4 troopers spaced on a certain stretch of the highway with none of them shooting radar or pulling anyone over

You know they were tipped, right?

Expired plates and following to close are rampant here.

Eh, not necessarily.

7-8 years ago, I was driving I-10 east from Houston to my parents in Orange beach. Had Texas tag, I bought my car in Dallas was working in Houston at the time.

Got pulled in either Mississippi or just before mobile, dont remember exactly which. The reason I got pulled over was total BS. Was in left lane, cop came up behind me on my arse. Moved over a lane to let him by. Said he pulled me over because I didn't signal a lane change. Said well, just trying to get out of your way (wanted say why the frick were you speeding and ran up my arse dipshit, laws apply to you too).

Anyway, dude immediately asked to search my car. I said whatever as long as he would make it quick so I could get home, had already been on the road for many hours. fricker went and got a dog, got it to jump in my car, the trunk, etc. I was pissed by this time and told him I would see if the dog shed any in my car when he was done and if so he was going to clean up the hairs. He ignored that.

Anyway, moral of story, they pull people over for no reason as well. Ftr, I was driving a black Mercedes with tinted out windows.
