Moral of the story, obey the traffic laws when transporting cocaine.
quote:
A Texas woman who told St. Tammany Parish sheriff's deputies she was on her way to Florida to pick up her parents is accused of drug distribution after authorities said more than 10 pounds of cocaine was found in her vehicle during a stop on Interstate 12.
Rosa Siller, 43, of Weslaco, Texas, was booked Wednesday (April 18) with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office said.
quote:
Siller, the driver, told the deputy she was heading to Florida to pick up her parents and transport them back to Texas with her. But during a consensual search of the vehicle, deputies found 10.4 pounds of suspected cocaine hidden in the vehicle.

Siller was also cited with following too close and expired license plate registration, the Sheriff's Office said.

What a waste of a really productive night of partying.

So she shouldn’t have been transporting cocaine with an expired liscense plate?

Cartels and their distributors are smart.
They get all these dumb bitches to run drugs for them. It's kind of amazing.

Never dispute a search with 10 pounds of coke in the car

Never ceases to amaze me when people are moving "go to prison for the rest of your life and/or get killed by a drug lord" amounts of drugs that they invariably drive a 1984 P.O.S. with a busted tail light and expired plates at 115 mph following 6 inches off the bumper of the car in front of them.

You do understand that it’s very rarely by choice right?

Who knows what she was driving, but the number of "traffic violations" the police are able to come up with when needed amazes me.

I understand what you think you believe. Transporting drugs from Texas to Florida and everywhere in between is vastly different than trying to make a break for it with an 80lb rucksack across the US/Meixco border.

Why agree to a consensual search when you have 10lbs of cocaine in there?
Say no sir, you have no probable cause to search my private property and you will need to obtain a warrant. At least then you have a chance that they drop the issue

Would make more sense as to why she consented to the search. Acting as a blocker and gets paid $$$$ to sacrifice a few years in jail. People with little money will do desperate things

And you don’t think that type of exploitation happens on this side of the border? Cmon dude

Cop: OK, get the K-9.
Dog trots over to car, stares at it for a second then trots over to grassy area off of the shoulder of the road, takes a shite and then lays down in the sun and goes to sleep.
Cop: That's the signal he found something! Search it!

If it's one thing I've learned from watching 25+ years of Cops and more recently Live PD is that if I'm cruising around with ten pounds of blow in my car, you bet your sweet arse it will be in a legit car with up to date registration, working lights, insurance, inspection, etc. while driving the speed limit in the middle of the day (not 2am in da hood, ya dig?)
