Don't forget the fact that Russian railroads were different sizes than Germans. That slowed them down for a while. Also Russian roads were(are?) made of dirt. Very difficult to drive a tank down dirt

I'd need a caveat on whether it's a scorched earth campaign or not, i.e. Whether civil casualties and infrastructure destruction are to be avoided or not.

And between Napoleon and Hitler there was this little scrap we now call World War I. People tend to forget that invasion of Russia worked out pretty well for the invaders then...
