My mom passed this past July so that's kind of a bummer but I have three kids to still bring the joy.

I’m ready for Christmas to be over. I want my house to go back to normal and spring to be here.

Age 44
Excitement Level: 1/10
Gets worse every year as the price on everything goes up, kids get older, and We get older. Only way I can save this shite from spiraling into the abyss next year is to take the family on a trip to the mountains for Christmas instead of buying presents they don't need. Eschew muggy South Louisiana Christmas with family I don't want to be around, to a picturesque Mountain Christmas with the only people that matter to me. It's not a hard choice, already planning.

I am a pretty big fan of Christmas.
I always love this time of year, like the last quarter of the year, but it goes way too fast. I remember driving through the neighborhood Halloween night seeing the kids check out everyone's decorations like it was yesterday.

Kids are teens or grown now and some won't be with me so a lot of that holiday magic is just gone.
Only put up the tree and a few decorations. Wife and I are both super busy so not a lot of time for Christmas stuff.
I get to see my grandson and some step kids though so that will be good.
Merry Christmas

6.5/10. I'm 33. It'll be my first holiday season as a single man in 8 years.
While I've enjoyed going to the parties/popup Christmas bars in an ugly sweater and bringing home random chicks in elf costumes, there's something fulfilling about sitting by the fire and giving your S/O a present then seeing the smile on her face when she opens it.

I enjoy the lead up time to Christmas more than actual Christmas also. Doesn’t help that my kids are grown and they all want money.

Holidays are always a little harder for me because my brother passed on December 1st, my Mom on December 10th. I am looking forward to a more chill holiday this year and am excited to start a new tradition of doing dinner at our house on Christmas Eve (my Mom used to do dinner Christmas Eve and my fiance's mom did until two years ago).
So 7/10, I'm 44

Thus Christmas snuck up on me, so more feeling rushed than excited. Last year we went skiing the week prior, so we were done early and it was so relaxing

Got our 2.5 year old. Will IVF implant number two in January. Got my court done for the year. Christmas is great again.

Age 45.
Get to see my oldest for a few days before she (no pics) heads back to Tulane. She will also be in town to play against UTSA on 12/30.
Other kids will be out of school until the new year. Refrigerator about to get smacked.
No travel planned.

Meh. I'm sure I'll feel some level of excitement next week. Maybe.

Day 5 of Hannukah starts tonight, so my house stinks of brisket and tallow (for the latkes), and there are no relatives anywhere near me. 9.5/10.

Retired, 70, wife and I are childless. But we still deck the home out, inside and outside. I love the lead up to the big day, people seem to be more pleasant. But when you are retired, every day is great!

59 and no children. I like the holiday season in general, but I am much more excited about the duck hunting trip I will be taking this weekend!

We had one at 40. Ain't going to lie. When they are in late teens. You aren't as full of energy as you were when they are little. But you will be fine.
Be prepared to be oldest mom and dad in classrooms visiting your kids. You won't relate to any of the other moms and dad's. Lol
