When the city of New Orleans' water system failed early Saturday, one Sewerage and Water Board employee was reportedly left to fix a slew of power and pump problems in a limited time before a boil water advisory for a chunk of Orleans Parish was needed, according to a WWL-TV report.

That one employee made an error when trying to bring a pump back online while simultaneously dealing with a power issue in another building, sources told WWL-TV.

The report noted the issues spanned two separate buildings.

I wonder how many no-show jobs LaToya has handed out since getting in office.

Was said employee the new director Ghassan Korban?

I was hoping the boil water days were behind us now that Landrieu's political puppets are no longer in charge.

Do any posters know the capacity of the Carrollton elevated tank? I know the system leaks like a sieve. I remember reading that S&WB was losing between 1/3 and 1/2 of their treated water due to leaks in the municipal system. But it seems odd that the emergency head pressure provided by the water tower would run down in only 20 minutes, especially at ~6:20 on a Saturday morning. Maybe it’s a smaller sized tank. I don’t know. But like most things involving S&WB, it sounds fricked up.

You would have to clear house then re-train and re-hire. S&WB didn't have to answer to anybody and the incompetence hidden for a long time. These reports wouldn't be seeing the light of day under mitch.

How long before the mob takes back control of New Orleans? I'm sure the administration would welcome the help.

Its been fun watching the Latoya supporters doing backflips to protect her. "She's not superwoman." "Do you honestly expect her to fix the S&WB in 6 months?"

How about having more than one guy covering multiple buildings?
