Jack Bauer carried a satchel/messenger bag. Looks pretty useful to me.

I have been carrying a messenger bag for several years now bout like the one pictured. I really like it. I keep a couple bottles of water, wet ones, half a roll of tp in a zip loc. couple gluten free bars and such for the wife and man stuff for me camera multi tool bug spray etc etc. I wer it when we out every where including church. The stuff comes in handy in suprising ways and every time I use something from in it I am glad to have it. The list of stuff is long and I have a staging area where I add or take out things as needed. going out to eat I may take out the bug spray and add the wet ones and a bib. I used to refer to it as my man sack but the wife didn't like that so now I call it my murse

At least you are aware and aren’t ashamed.

But only above the neck...

Yes, I want to carry my drugs in them too like the wrestlers did

Why not
practically every adult male in my office has gone from briefcase to travel backpack in the last couple years, so let's take it a step further

Before I had the messenger bag I carried a back pack day tripper. I could care less what folks think I aint ashamed none at all. They pick at me till it starts raining then I pull out a few of those emergency panchos and every one wants to buy one. At festivals I have one of those mylar blankets and the bug spray etc I have always had a pack just moved to the messenger for its easier access.

They are really popular with women hanging out at the pool. Majority of the woman I saw in line for the pool day club in one of the casinos in Vegas this past weekend was wearing them.
