What does ST think about this kid? I had never heard of him until I listened to an interview he did on CBS Sports Radio yesterday.
Guy went from playing golf his FR/SO years of high school to playing HS football and is now projected as decent OL prospect in this draft. He also seems like a really smart guy based on the interview I heard. The host interviewing him kept referring to him as a future 1st round pick in this draft, but I haven't heard his name at all compared to other top OL in this draft. Johnson also has experience playing all 3 positions on the line.
Here's his NFL draft profile with a 6.34 draft grade: NFL.com Oh and by the way he has a 9.74 RAS.
A smart, versatile, seemingly under the radar guy, with good athleticism per RAS, at a position of need... might be someone we need to keep on our radar.

If we draft an OG in the 1st I’m going to melt

All the mocks I've seen, fwiw, have him going late first-early second

Yeah, somebody is going to get a good player on the interior, but we have bigger needs.

I'm so tired of Peat and wouldn't mind some new blood coming in to permanently take his spot.
But I'm with you.
There are bigger needs.

This city is only big enough for one Zion

I know the Saints front office loves RAS and Zion has a high one...there are actually 36 players in this draft with a higher RAS so while I think Zion will be very high on our board, there are other players at positions of need with higher ones.

i am interested to see how Ruiz does under Marrone's coaching. Although he hasn't shown a lot of promise, I am not ready to give up on him yet. If he does struggle again this season, that is obviously trouble.
here is a look at the number of games Peat has played in the last few seasons.
2018: 13
2019: 10
2020: 13
2021: 6
he will be 29 in early November.
true, we need tackle help the most on the line but guard could be the way to go if the value is there.
if we were able to get a WR, OT, and guard with the first 3 picks that'd be fine with me.

Draft him, and slide Peat to LT.

If they trade back and pick up another 2nd, he might be on the table with a late first.
