Just listening to the opening broadcast comments from Zack Strief. Wow, that was painful to the ears.

I like Strief but the play by play announcer should be someone who went to school for journalism/ broadcasting and has experience in radio or TV writing their own reports. Jim Henderson had a way with words bc he had the background. Could Strief get better? Sure but he will never have enough experience as someone who has been crafting their skills while he was playing OL for New Orleans. Think this was just not a smart move by the Saints for hiring him for this. Maybe he could have been sideline reporter first then potentially move up.

That’s the kicker they had several other viable options but for some reason went with Strief. I love Deuce, one of my favorite Saints ever. But as someone else said he’s not great either. This could be a rough year for WWL.

Seems like he's doing a decent job on the actual play by play.
He's just got an amateur voice. Sounds like the local guy who calls high school games in his spare time.
Would've loved to have had a real play by play guy with Strief and Deuce doing the commentary.
