A lot of the commentators that join Mike Detillier and Bobby Hebert are in denial about the condition of the Saints. They’re convincing themselves that the Saints are a great organization to work for and that it’s still a very desirable job. They actually said that they refuse to believe that this is one of the worst jobs available in the NFL.

In actuality, the Saints are a dumpster fire, and they look like they will be for many years to come at this rate. In fact, we’ve been a dumpster fire for most of our existence outside of the Drew Brees/Sean Payton era. It’s laughable how the organization is run. It’s a mom and pop operation that hires its friends and makes them un-fireable (Mickey Loomis).

Good luck to any coach who comes here because the organization is not serious about winning and won’t equip you with the tools you need to succeed.

Lost all respect for Bobby when he started chewing out a guy that called in and said Loomis was the problem. Bobby said he was a Hall of Fame gm.

No other gm has their team this deep in the hole on the cap.

WWL sports radio (which is more commercials than actual content) is another arm of the saints media team. I don’t think those hosts with Cush jobs would risk the wrath from team management that would come with consistent criticism.

Eric Asher does a good and fair job on 106.1

It was mainly Brees and Payton. Loomis is still living off that success.

Quit listening long ago; sick and tired of all the stupid commercials that dominate any program.

WWL has made a calculated move that listeners prefer the rainbows and unicorns approach as the truth on the state of the franchise may turn away listeners. Buddy D could get away with telling it like it is with his band of callers like Bubba, Abdul, Dr Kevorkian, Sid in Jefferson and Ken in the East.

Mike D and Bobby do not have the following to pull that off so WWL gaslights its listeners on how desirable the job is.

Ben Johnson not interviewing, Aaron Glenn noting the Jets are his top choice, and Sean Payton attempting to leave the Saints 3 times tells us all we need to know about the desirability of the Saints.

If you think about the highly contested free agent battles the last decade (with Payton and Brees) in Suh, Jadavious Clowney, Deshawn Watson. OBJ, etc. we lose every time. It’s tough on these visits selling Ormond Estates as a premier neighborhood which the region is forced to do.

WWL can pump sunshine up their listeners asses all day, but if you watch what they do you’ll realize they are liars.

Saints are an absolute dumpster fire, no argument, but most of the other available jobs are also dumpster fires for their own reasons.

Chicago - arguably most difficult division in the NFL with Packers, Lions, and Vikings, have to play in bad weather, Caleb looks like he might suck, and horrible ownership which is about to get worse as kids fight over inheritance. Whoever hires you may not stay in charge for long.

Raiders - arguably worst owner in the NFL, just fired coach after one year who was set up to fail. No QB and not drafting low enough. Another very tough division to win in (Chiefs, Chargers, Broncos).

Jets - coaching graveyard for decades, intense media spotlight, a-hole intrusive owner (cussed out backup QB in locker room this year), no QB or path to get one, horrible team history overall.

Jaguars - stuck with GM Trent Baalke, and you better hope Trevor is actually good because he's being paid Top 5 money?

Saints - it's the cap situation and oldish roster. I know the fans hate Gayle, but the Saints (and Jags) probably have the best ownership situation from a coaching hire standpoint - mostly hands-off and patient. NFC south is an easy division to get wins. New coach may be on board with sucking for a season or two if it's part of a plan and he knows the owner will be patient.

Jags has the best job.

Jets also have to deal with Buffalo. Even in a down year they're dominant. Allen and McDermott won't be going away

I keep seeing this about our roster being old. Cam was basically benched this year. Chase and Granderson got majority of the snaps at end.

DD and Honey Badger are the only two players in their 30s starting.

Everyone on offense outside of Carr is under 30.

I think I agree. I thought Ben Johnson would be a great fit there. After the jags though, there are red flags with every open position. Saints are not significantly worse than most of the other coaching vacancies.

Nothing is ever as bad as it seems.

Or as good for that matter.

Saints are still at #30, even after cutting some age off.

Derek Carr is your #1 2025 cap hit at 34 y/o
Cam is #2 at 35
Taysom is #3 at 34
Demario is #5 at 36
Ramcyck is #6
Tyrann is #9 at 33

2026 is much of the same except we will have a 31 yo RB at #2

Nearly all of these are Loomus restructures
