WLOX has switched to the news and NFL Network has it blocked because it’s still listed as the program on WLOX.

At least you can watch.

Only thing wrong is still no 4k. I haven't used my cable box since last football season and it's kind of disappointing.

They rarely broadcast in true 1080p, let alone 4k. We'll be waiting awhile.

I posted this in the game thread about the compression and the ragged edges on the graphics.

I hadn’t watched TV over the air in awhile, but on Fox 8 there is way too much compression on the signal. It almost looks like an SD signal stretched to HD. The noise around the score bug in the middle is annoying and this is only on a 50/55 inch TV. I couldn’t imagine someone trying to watch it on an 85 inch set.

Now if there was a way to watch a better digital signal from Fox 8 in upconverted 1080p using the latest HEVC compression, oh wait their is, but the corporate bosses at Gray and Hearst for WDSU insist on encrypting their new ATSC 3.0 signals in New Orleans.

Hi,
Sorry for the Problem.  WLOX is airing the Saints game.  And we are feeding the game to all of those who retransmit it.  Cable, Satellite, and Streaming services such as HULU and You Tube TV.  It appears the streaming services switched to another ABC station, not WLOX.  We are working hard to get them to switch back to WLOX.

Is this normal Fox NFL HD Sunday broadcast level or is it a little off being that it's preseason and local broadcast?

First season without cable and always thought antenna was supposed to be a little clearer than cable, and quality seems a little off. Could just be my antenna, too.

I don’t recall the specifics but fox doesnt broadcast in true HD. It’s a compression issue

It is a preseason game so Fox is not involved. The local Gray/Raycom owned Fox affiliate is broadcasting the game in New Orleans. I think one of Gray/Raycom production companies, Tupelo Honey, is in charge of the actual broadcast. They are using a Fox-like graphics package and music. The game is on most Gray/Raycom stations in the South even as far as Memphis.

Not sure which feed the NFL network uses since I don’t have cable.

I’m watching the ABC broadcast on DirectTV stream and it’s been buzzing constantly. Just the broadcast. Not commercials. Weird.

Figured it had to be something like this with a local entity handling the broadcast.

Saints blew a 17 point lead. Preseason or not, it’s just the usual. Not missing anything.
