@ScottCarasik: @NFLDraftMonster Like I said, there's a reason why ATL guys don't like Gleason and have no sympathy for him.
Still butthurt about a blocked punt 7 years ago

He never says why calling Gleason a hero is misguided. It just is. Sound reasoning.

I was just about to ask this. I'm not sure why he keeps repeating he is "no hero" and giving no explanation

At first it makes it seems like what they were saying was fine. This was his first tweet about it

He keeps harping on Gleason not being a hero...is he familiar with Gleason's history? Someone link him to the Team Gleason website.

quote:he keeps saying that shite then saying people he went to the citadel with are heroes. I served in the military and Gleason is more of a hero than most of the guys I served with. i'm sure most that served would also agree with that.

Wow I just realized the station is affiliated with ESPN Radio

Maybe its about the statue?

I would venture to say most of these folks don't realize what Gleason means to the city and to our team.
He was the underdog. The scrappy player that epitomized TEAM. We were a city devastated by Katrina and he made the defining play in the first game back in the Superdome. To see someone like him be stricken with ALS and watch such a drastic decline in such a short period of time effected us all as fans. He picked us up when we needed it and IMO fans are trying to pick him up and support him in return.
Not glorifying the player but simply respecting what he was and what he stands for.

I wonder if it was because he punched that Panther in the balls. My first Saints game...fond memories.
