Would you want the Saints to draft Arden Key in the first round?

It’s a pipe dream, but there may be a chance for him to fall that far given character concerns. He’d be the perfect hybrid DE/OLB in our scheme.

I’m not looking at it with purple and gold goggles because I do have issues with him. He definitely takes off plays and has a questionable work ethic. Snag a TE in the second.

No. I have a bad feeling he'll be a bust. Sucks because I think he could have been one of the best to ever play the position.

No

He's the next Dion Jordan

Lazy, easily distracted. If you can't put in the work to dominate in college where it's easy, I don't like your chances to do in the NFL where it isn't easy.

He had more sacks than everyone on our team not named Cameron Jordan. Put this type of player on our line and he will get 10+. If you don’t want that you must be a Browns fan.

So you wouldn't take a Clowney on the opposite side of Cam? Gtfoh, lol.

Aside from that, he's more comparable to Danielle Hunter or Leonard Floyd. Either of which I would love to have opposite Cam. So yes, if Key fell that far I would take him in a heartbeat. Our locker room would be motivation and those guys would keep him on a straight path.

But he won't fall that far.

I don’t understand the “lazy” bs. Yeah, something obviously happened last spring, and Arden was in trouble, but look at how he battled back. No doubt it was a disappointing season for him, but his commitment to getting back in shape midseason was commendable. How many players have shed ~20 lbs in a matter of weeks after coming back from major surgery and a 4 month hiatus? He won’t fall to us, but I guarantee you Payton would be able to push his arse into becoming a menace. Would definitely strengthen our pass rush.

Edited… Looks like I read the statistics incorrectly and now see that he had 9 1/2 sacks last year. I don’t know what it is about him but I just don’t like him. I think it goes back to his days at South Carolina. He openly admits he took plays off not giving 100% of his efforts all the time. It’s a character issue thing.… But 9 1/2 sacks is rather impressive.

Wtf Clowney is good???? He had 9.5 sacks and an 88 PFF season grade. He’d have more sacks if Watt were healthy too. Y’all are on something this morning...

He 9.5 sacks last season! He was named to a pro bowl this year and last year. He was also a 2nd team All-Pro last year.

It’s still dumb. He’s been great the last 2 years. And this year he was the pretty much the Texans only pass rush since their other two guys, JJ Watt and Whitney Marcilus, ended up on IR.
