I assumed it was DA but that’s possible. I’d have to listen again for context

Gayle, Mickey and Lauscha are basically the ownership group so they make the most sense. Lauscha runs the business, Mickey runs the football, Gayle signs the checks.

Carmichael has been here since ‘06. Longest tenured assistant with the same team by 3 years. No one on the planet knows CSP concepts better than him, save maybe Drew. He’s your no brainer to stay at OC

No. That’s extremely lazy

It would appear lazy to hire Allen, but I would prefer someone Loomis and the organization is familiar with then some other NFL assistant coach. What guy with NFL head coach experience could possibly be in the running? I can't think of one I would want.

It would have to be a home run no risk guy to not give it to Allen. Worth losing most of the current staff and possibly losing players that would look to follow.
There is no one like that now that I know of and there will be the usual pressure to give a new guy his shot based on his skin color.

Throw in Joe Brady coming home and you’ve got a deal.

Some people are meant to be coordinators, Allen was very bad in his opportunity as a HC.

7 years ago on a bad team that had no talent, no draft picks, and no salary cap. Was only given 2 —1/4 seasons and the first season shouldn’t even count bc their was no acquisitions made to improve the roster what so ever or bring in guys to fit his scheme. The man is not a magician. It was a bad situation. Also everyone deserves a 2nd chance and he undoubtedly would have learned from his past and would be given a chance to succeed with a good core and supporting cast.

The alternatives are to hire retreads or someone else’s up and coming coordinators.

They better not bring Nagy, Flores, or Zimmer anywhere around here.

I’d love to hire an offensive mind but we will almost assuredly go with DA. It will placate Gayle, the roster and Ireland/Loomis.

We just have to hope he’s our Tomlin

I suspect you don't really know the dark age of Saints football lol

I suspect that is a fairly healthy portion of the posters here.

A little Saints History

The saints have had 2 coaches with overall winning records

Sean Payton and Jim Mora, Sr.

The saints have won their division 9 times. 7 of those under Payton.

17 winning seasons in Saints history - 10 under Payton, 5 under Mora, 2 under Haslet

Playoff records

Mora 0-4
Haslett 1-1
Payton 9-8

Here is what I consider the dark ages

1967-1985 (pre Mora years) 83-187-5 (.302)

Next two eras as I divide them:

1986-2005 (Mora to Haslett era) 154-165 (.486)

2006-2021 (Payton era) 159-98 (.619)

The absence of CSP a few games this year didn't seem to matter. Covid and injuries is what mattered.
