I have two: Chip Lomiller and Dave Wilson. I also put Frank Watlett close.

Anyone who says Brooks is the worst is retarded. He may have smiled after INTs but the guy is still the Saints all-time leader in many categories and led the Saints to their 1st playoff win and 2nd division title. He only had 1-2 losing seasons as well. He hardly qualifies as the worst player in Saints history.

Agreed. I don't think I will ever understand the hatred for Brooks. Maybe if we were all Steeler, 49er, or Cowboys fans who were accustomed to winning. But the fact that he at least made the Saints mediocre makes him one of the better Saints players in history. I'm hoping the people who listed Brooks don't actually believe this and are trying to make a joke.

You don't know shite if you are saying Aaron Brooks. Seriously get some perspective. He not only contributed to a playoff win, but many wins.

J. Poe
F. Thomas

The Saints had a kicker from the early 70's named Happy Feller. Dead serious. If you are old enough to remember him, then you remember how awful he was. Made 16 of 43 fieldgoals in 3 seasons in the NFL. How the hell he stuck around for 3 seasons is beyond me. I remember him because his name cracked me up too.

My previous defense of Fred Thomas stands:

quote:

FAIL.

Fred Thomas was a solid corner, the best we had for a few years, until he got old and injured. We kept trotting him out there though because we refused to draft or sign a CB besides Jason Craft who couldn't beat out Fred Thomas. Thomas played with a f'n cast on his hand for half a year. Fred Thomas was a solid corner who played injured, was a tough sonofabitch and looked bad at the end of his career because he was old and injured.
FRED THOMAS One helluva Saint.

quote:

The Saints signed Ashley Ambrose, Fakhir Brown, Dale Carter, Steve Israel, Kevin Mathis and Jason Craft who could never take his spot. MM was the only trade they made who came in and could start for them over Thomas. all the other guys sucked.

Besides the epic signing of those guys, the Saints haven't drafted a corener back since 2002 until they picked up U. Young and T. Porter. (By the way, that was Keyuo Craver in the 4th round) Before that it was Fred Weary in the 4th round of '98 and before that it was Alex Molden in '96.

Don't blame Thomas because he was better than what the Saints could sign or draft.
