Carr is a career loser. Always has and always will be. He has been a complete waste of money.

And our roster sucked, adding a career mediocre qb to a roster in decline was fricking stupid. This isn’t in hindsight, plenty of people then knew it was going to fail

The bar was insanely low, win a dog shite division and get into the playoffs with a barely above .500 record and you flopped miserably. Mickey gambled it all to win a Honda accord and still failed

Does Carr have more wins or excuses at this point in his what…eleven year career? It’s a valid question.

Guess you forgot how great Rattler looked his three starts. He didnt put up points against the chargers or broncos and got benched both of those games. Or you just forgot about that?

It’s pretty simple

Carr is a better QB than Jameis. But Carr is only good enough to make you a mediocre football team.

The reason why it would be better for us to have Jameis over Carr is the extremely large amount of money Carr is paid and will cost to move on from him. If we had Jameis right now, our QB/roster flexibility would be so much better right now.

Oh and the fact that dumbass Loomis decided to restructure Carr so that we couldn’t realistically move on from him after this year. Reason number 5,995 as to why he should be fired.

, if it doesn’t lead to wins as a QB, you’re worthless.

So by your logic Brees 3 year 7-9, he was worthless?

Jameis has 3.3 mil cap hit for the Saints this year. How huge is that compared to what we got coming up with Carr?

So I guess almost 11 million is chump change right? Will count over 7 million next year on a team that’s over the cap by 80 million when he hadn’t been on the roster for over a year.

At least get your facts straight before posting….

quote:

The Saints designated the backup quarterback as a vested veteran post-June 1 release, allowing New Orleans to split his $10.8 million in dead money across the next two seasons. New Orleans must carry his $4.6 million cap hit on its books until June 2, but will then only incur a $3.4 million hit in 2024 and a $7.3 million hit in 2025

Brees had a career record of 110-75 before the three 7-9 seasons.

Derek Carr has never carried a winning record in his entire career

It’s much greater, but you acting like Winston didn’t cost anything for cutting. Still over 11 million dead cap when he’s not on the roster. Carr will be here at least another year or two.

No, you were the one that brought up a huge chunk of money for Winston. His cost is a pittance compared to the actual huge chunk for Carr.

You're making the case for Winston stronger.

3rd team to give up on him.

He’s clearly not a franchise QB. I don’t think anyone thinks that anymore

Carr is better but not good enough to drastically elevate the team. He wasn’t worth the money. This team should’ve been committed to the rebuild instead

Going back to Winston, the Browns benched him to commit to the tank. Not that Winston was good but this guy they have starting now struggles to throw for even 200 yards. He gives them close to a 0% chance at winning which is what they want

He's a turnover machine. Dude has never ever been a good QB. Neither has Carr tho.
I disagree, dude can be a good QB if he ever stops being a TO machine. But at this point I don't know if it will ever happen. Dude can throw the football with the best, but he just can't stop doing stoopid stuff. Two weeks ago he threw for almost 500 yards with 4 passing TD's, but also threw 3 pics I think. Two of them were Pic 6's! Smh

The Saints came the closest to turning him into a good QB with Payton working with him to stop him from throw interceptions. Payton taught him to use his RB's to dump the ball off to when in trouble, and not try to force balls that turn into Int's. It was working, but when Payton left for Denver he just went back to playing Jameis football.
