I think we're on our way towards the latter, but I'll wait until draft=FA...Carr extension not a surprise, but definitely hamstrings the next coach

They are still winning enough to not be considered a laughing stock. More accurately, the Saints are just irrelevant.

I'll let Travis Kelce illustrate....

The NFL and Roger Goodell, always had it in mind, beginning with Bountygate to make the Saints a laughing-stock.

The NFL in court stated documents is defined as entertainment.

Part of the package is to have loveable losers, the bad guys, the good guys, the buffoons, the fall guys, the legacy teams, and finally the legendary royalty.

The Saints were made an example of to mitigate the concussion law suits by showing the players were paying to injure themselves.

The Saints are the league fall guys. All of the owners are in on it and benefit from it.

In a sense, Bountygate and the “no call” fans’ complaints are treated with ha ha, too bad so sad derogatory humor.

Please explain to me how a 9-8 team is a ‘laughing-stock’

it all depends if the FO makes a great OC hire that can turn things around.

if they can find a guy to be the HC at OC salary, maybe they can run the team while clueless DA runs the defense

Right now, neither. We are just average. Not great, not terrible. Restructuring Carr's contract was necessary to get us under the salary cap.

Possible for us to get under without doing so, but not with that much breathing room

Not even close to a laughing stock. You must be new here

It's still early, but, looks like the Carolina Panthers are set to be the NFL laughing-stock of the 2020s.

Those few 11-plus win seasons under Payton and Brees really spoiled some of you.

This board is a laughing stock. With all this team bashing on here it's like Falcons fans have infiltrated.
