Will Grier is the only QB I’d burn our 2nd rounder on

There’s at least a chance he’lll still be there at the end of the second round, especially if another QB needy team gets Josh Rosen from the Cards. Kid seems like he’d be a good fit, reminds me a little of Drew and Baker. Just not realistic to expect an immediate contributor at the end of the 2nd round, so I don’t mind making this pick for the future. None of the other QBs realistically available there float my boat. Teddy B is a great back-up, but I don’t see him as our QB of the future, plus he’ll cost too much. The greatest sin a team can make in the NFL now is to overpay an average quarterback.

PFF 3rd best QB
(say what you want about PFF, but they were pounding the table for Baker Mayfield as the best QB in the draft before anyone else last year)

frick all this QB noise. get a day 1 contributor with this years picks. all in on a SB run THIS YEAR. the window is damn near shut.

drew retires, either bridgewater can cut it or he cant. if we suck, so be it, tank for a top 5 QB in that years draft.

I’m with you, J-Cole.

F*ck the future. 2019 is the only year I give a sh*t about. Get Drew a second Lombardi, let him retire Elway style, then embrace the tank.

I think there is zero chance he gets even close to the bottom of the second

will end up being the most successful QB in this class, i'd bet money on it...

if the Cardinals were smart (which they aren't), i'd grab Bosa #1, then draft Grier in the 2nd...

I think saints use next years first to trade into 2nd to get Grier if they want him. Then draft OL with this years second.

No need to tank after this year. Barring his 6’2” height, which doesn’t bother me in the least, Grier has all the makings to be a franchise QB.
Also, unlike Bridgewater, Grier’s rookie QB salary will allow the saints to re-sign our big name players coming up for a payday. Tanking doesn’t solve the salary cap issue. And, although he’s good, I don’t see Bridgewater as a franchise QB

Bridgewater looked like sh*t against Carolina.

Armstead, Bushrod, Warford all in active, Peat left in the 1st half with an injury, and they held out Ramczyk... only regular starter that played significant snaps was Unger, and as we all have come to know, he was running on very little left in the tank at that point, considering he retired this offseason...

the shitty offensive line probably had something to do with his lackluster performance...

And what if we miss on a “day one contributor”

A late second round rookie isn’t going to be the difference in going “all in” which is again a board created idea. And in no way shape or form is a Sean Payton led team ever going to tank for a top 5 pick. You bet your arse that if they feel there is a franchise qb hanging around in the mid second they will move to grab him.

There is no shot in hell the saints are going to say “frick the future” when they have one of the most talented young rosters in the league.

Right, it's no guarantee the pick pans out and there isnt a starting position up for grabs. We already have a top 5 roster, talent wise.

A QB on a rookie deal would be valuable down the road and in the best interest in continued success, especially if you want to resign guys like:

Thomas
Kamara
Lattimore
Ramcyck
New Cam Jordan deal
Rankins
Apple
Onyemata
Anzalone
Williams
Peat possibly

Exactly. You think a team with leadership on defense like cam Jordan, Davis, lattimore and prime mike Thomas and Alvin Kamara are going to be down for tanking for a top 5 pick?

The organization has worked to shed any old labels and become a well run, winning franchise. Would the Steelers, or patriots tank To maybe be shitty enough to take a shot at drafting a top 5 pick? Hell no, they’d start making transitional plans for the future to keep the franchise operating at a high level just like we have.

This madden player mindset of just saying frick it for a one year shot isn’t remotely the reality we’ve been operating in nor will it ever be under this regime.

How likely is that with pick 62? IMHO you get the best player you can, full stop, even if he won’t contribute this year. And please, please don’t count on tanking one season for a great QB. That kind of struggle can go on for years. Smart teams draft a QB almost every season. You don’t see Belichick going “all in, frick the future” do you?

Will Grier has a visible arm tattoo it shows poor decision making.

His play on the field was good but not great.

No qb with a visible tattoo has won a superbowl.

Do not want.

Did not know that! Forget everything I said, Will Grier sucks. The tattoo has spoken.

There’s a ton of QB talent in the draft this year. Wouldn’t mind grabbing one this year is CSP believes in the QB.

I agree with the mindset, but I think a bad Teddy has us at 7-9 with the way we are building up the defense and running game.

there FIFY

bridgewaters in game play for us has been worse then daniels was yet the fanboys keep lying saying how great he is

well you are only as good as your play on the field and so far bridgewater hasnt even justified a 3rd string QB roster spot
