Any thoughts? Final 53? Practice squad? Cut? I want the kid to make it but I'm not sure, although Bushrod appears to be sucking mighty heavily.

PS. Josh and Ola will be hard to pass but not impossible. Still two weeks.

Clapp needs to get more minutes against better competition before properly evaluating him.

I think he has out performed Ola and I think Ola would be available as needed as a street FA throughout the season.

I doubt highly that Clapp could pass Josh on the depth chart this year.

depth and numbers this year is going to be key.

Bushrod, LeRibeus, Leonard, and Clapp would be my ideal keeps for OL depth but that is a lot of 53 dedicated to the OL.

QB - 1 lock + Savage/Hill Barrett(PS)
FB - 1 lock
RB - 2 locks + Williams/Scott/West/Vereen
WR - 4 locks + Tate/Floyd/Lewis
TE - 3 locks + PS fodder
OL - 5 locks + Bushrod/LeRibeus/Leonard/Clapp/Tom/Ola
DT - 3 locks + Lawrence/Hamilton/Stallworth/Bromley
DE - 5 locks + Muhammad/Kikaha
LB - 5 locks + Stupar/Elliott
CB - 4 locks + Maulet/Hardee/Jamerson/Williams
S - 3 locks +Banjo/Moore
K/P/LS - 3 locks

39 locks with 14 spots up for grabs

at minimum those spots will be filled with the highest rated players from the following positions
1 QB
2 RB
1 WR
3 OL
1 DT
1 LB
1 CB
1 S

filling 11/14 spots

leaving potentially 3 spots open for BPA remaining slots from the remaining players.

*numbers could be off due to the Ingram suspension, that could create an open temporary spot

Taysom Hill should be on the roster just not as a QB. Make him some sort of H-Back and incorporate him into the offense. Dude his skills running the ball.

He is already his own position.

At this point if we keep him it is soley for his gunning ability on ST after the KR/PR or the Punter/Kicker.

he is the reason my brother had to end his career at QB for Brother Martin. All his concussions came from Clapp missing a block.

It was Clapp, and not the other non-D1 division offensive linemen, fault?

He should be on the 53. His ability to play both center and guard is too valuable to try to hide on the practice squad

Remember, another team can sign him off of our PS. I say he makes it...... barely.

Oh please. Clap and Hoefeld were the only good lineman. Never had a good QB at brother Martin when I was there. The best one was Garrett Bean.

Showing versatility in playing both G positions as well as center helps his chances. The coaching staff seem to like his work ethic.

I say practice squad for now.

I would rather a ton of depth at OL than RB.
