Emery Jr. wants to enroll early and focus his academics on business, real estate, and developing his own brand.
Sounds like we need to sit him down with Prof Tommy Karam....
If sims is seeing any kind of significant time at the 3 this season isn't going to nearly as good as people are anticipating.
You underestimate the impact of an upperclassman. Just because these new toys have more talent, doesn't mean they're instantaneous plug and play guys. I ...

The Fence is Still Up

Posted by kingsdokingthings on 7/30/18 at 8:07 am
Even with the pipeline to Tuscaloosa, the fence is still up around Louisiana. With John Emery's commitment, I thought about in-state players, WHO LSU RECRUITED, that committed to other SEC schools in recent history. While Alabama has consistently pulled top talent from the state, I could only ...
I know baseball pairs a portion of a baseball scholarship with an academic scholarship. What's the difference between an academic and athletic scholarship? What's stopping LSU from putting Skylar Mays on an academic scholarship?...
Our LB strength is an indictment on Chavis. As good as of an in-game coach as he was, he was a sub-par recruiter especially at the LB position. He thought Kenny Young was too fat, didn't offer Debo until the 11th hour, and targeted guys like Ronnie Feist. DA took over a depleted LB position a...
A couple of interesting tidbits: - WW noticed early on in the season that the three guard lineup wasn't going to fly and that they needed a 6'6, athletic, "SEC" wing player. Coaches identified Marlon Taylor early on and had been recruiting him for some time. Said it was convenient, with him bei...
Randy Livingston. Wow this site must be full of youngsters. Many folks believe Randy Livingston was the greatest high school player ever . I mean in the whole country
If the topic was the "best high school players in the past 30 years," Randy Livingston would have been number one....
Also Derenbecker was the 3rd best in the state in his class, why you'd think he'd be in top 10 over last 20 years? He did nothing in college to make a case for him
Just because a recruiting service doesn't view someone as a top recruit, doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't a great hi...
Correct me if I'm wrong but Bass didn't win anything. I realize Tasmin never won a state championship either but every year Denham Springs was in the hunt. ...

Agreed, for the most part. Sims will get minutes next year. He's relatively versatile and can switch on ball screens. He's also continued to improve. Hopefully he can develop a mid-range jump shot this offseason. Sampson, on the other hand, I don't see where he can find minutes next year....
DJ Augustin, Joe McKnight, and Andy Pettite...
Looking awesome, only thing Williams is in no way a wing
Agreed. That may not be our starting lineup but we could go big with Williams at the 3. We could put Smart at 3 or Sampson of course. I look at this lineup and see minutes hard to come by for Sampson. I hope he doesn't t...
