Why’d we get so little out of Jarvis Landry?

I was looking forward to him finally joining the saints. Just continual injury bad luck?

I believe our high powered offense had a little to do with it

Partly. He also is an older slot type receiver. There is a reason he only got 3 mil guaranteed.

Saints need to rethink the receiving threats.

He’s cooked. He was never a speed guy to start but he’s lost a step when he couldn’t really afford to. This team needs to get young, cheap receivers from the draft and move on from Smith, Callaway and Harris. You can’t sink money into fuse guys unless Harris will take a team friendly deal but we have his successor in Shaheed on the roster. I want that WR from Purdue Charlie Jones if we can get him in the mid to late rounds. We have Shaheed and Olave that can stretch the field, this kid would be a perfect slot receiver.

He was washed when we signed him. He's in the third year of a linear regression and 30 years old.

The question is why you expected more than what you got.

He only played in 9 games. If you extrapolate his stats to 17, he finishes the year with 47 catches, 500 yards. That’s solid for a WR3, which is what he was expected to be.

It was really just the injury.

lol.

Jarvis Landry has been a complete non factor in all games but week 1 against ATL which accounted for ~40% of his yards though those 9 games. He's been washed. Injury has just exacerbated his decline.

He is washed up. Hopefully him and the honey crapper both get cut.

He gets hurt seemingly every year. It's not like this wasn't a possibility he would get hurt this year, too.

He’s past being a WR1 or 2, obviously. But if he put up 50 catches and 500 yards like he should have, that’s fine, especially for the pennies he’s being paid.

He got hurt in week 3, he didn’t get much of a chance this year. I hope we can bring him back for cheap.

I’d bring him back if he’s willing to take the same $. I don’t think he’s fully done yet and has some left in the tank.

Peyton made a call to Allen. He didn’t want Jarvis getting a lot of playing time because LSU. So they made up an injury.

While that is fine for a wr3, he only has 3tds the last 2 yrs.

Would you rather have him or shaheed as your wr3?

I'd rather have shaheed.

I mean I'd take jarvis back for 3 min total salary.

I’d thought Jarvis could fill in for the inevitable MT injury. Was wrong. Think he’s done. Would rather continue to develop Shaheed, he definitely has potential.

Not sure what happened to Harris, but he was dynamic when healthy. Woukd love to keep him as our number 4. If only MT would stay healthy. We’d have our top 4 and then maybe draft Jaray Jenkins in the later rounds as insurance. Think he’s underrated. Maybe Boutte even slips to 3rd or 4th.
