Bc it would be expensive and mean to fire him after one year. And the people in charge would have to admit they made an expensive mistake. So fans will be forced to watch another wasted season before he can be fired. I sure wont spend a dime on the Saints next season.

Probably 3 reasons
1) The Saints sell out and have a waiting list. So there is no real threat of having the dome with 15k unsold seats.
2) Allen's defense played lights out. He should stay but the offensive side of the ball not to be turned over.
3) You have to take the injuries and the Salary cap into consideration. Right now the Saints are without a 1st Round pick. Had massive injuries and they saddled him with Winston and Dalton. I actually like Dalton to manage another 8-9 win season next year which should make the playoffs.
Make cuts, trades, pay salary and extend a few to get the cap down for 2024.

Because it only took one year for the organization to revert to its former status. Keeping bad coaches picking up old washed up players, and doubling down on it in the offseason.

Tons of first year coaches finish with much worse records/teams and don’t get fired.
It’s kind of a bad look if you do it to DA after year one

Not many first year coaches take over this quality of a roster.

DA was a lazy hire let's be honest. Dude previous HC record was bad.

The team went from 12-4 to 9-8 to 7-10. This was not some huge drop-off it's exactly where the team was trending without a HOF QB.
I am not a fan of the DA hire but didn't hate it either. Unless you specifically hire a coach to be a fall guy, you give him more than 1 season.
Of the 10 losses, 6 were 1-score games (8 points or less differential). 3 of those were a field goal or less. the other 4 losses were 2 score games.
If the Saints fired DA I wouldn't hate it but I also won't hate it if they give him one more year to show he can do better.

At some point yall need to just accept that we are stuck with him. Continuing to think they may fire him is the equivalent of thinking your ex still loves and will come back to you.
Move on breh. He's here to stay for another year. You're just as annoying as the Benson lady keeping him onboard.

He's going to get another year, possibly two more.
It is what it is. That's just not how the Saints operate.

he was never in danger of losing his job this season. Unless they completely tank next season, I agree he will be here for 2 more years.

If Buddy Diliberto was alive today, IMHO, he'd say that DA was a lazy hire, that DA will return as HC, that Sean Payton was wrong to acquire Winston, that Sean Payton woefully mishandled the transition from Brees to the next QB and that the Saints were not going to be good enough to make noise in the Playoffs for the foreseeable future.
He'd say that, from 7-10 this season, the most hopeful among us should realistically see 10-7 as the ceiling next season. Buddy D would say that he places 9-8 as his own opinion on the Saints best W/L record next season. Maybe another losing season in 2023, he'd say, IMHO.

Which DA thread did you copy this from?

I don’t mind keeping Coach Allen for another season. This team isn’t built to win without an established QB and we had injuries galore this season. We are in salary cap hell. Give Allen another set of 17 games to allow him to hang himself after next season. We are not winning big next year even if Payton somehow did come back.
