considering new orleans was a pretty losing franchise prior to the 2000s
I think you mean prior to 1987.

I was on the front row right behind the fetch monster when Tim Couch threw his hail mary
my step dad took me to see that game because he thought it might cheer me up. I had played in a high school a few nights before where my team lost in triple overtime.
and damned if that shite didn't happen. a god dang hail mary.
the Saints had been ahead the whole game too.
There was a picture of Ditka laying on the field after that play. It was on the front page of the sports section the next day. I laughed pretty hard.

If I recall correctly the Cleveland coach in the 2010 game was on the hotseat and had his job very much on the line that particular stretch of the season -- so they literally threw the kitchen sink at us.
Ryan also did the "amoeba" defensive formation with NOBODY in a down position, and ran several plays with something like 6 or 7 linebackers out there. Basically he put every linebacker on the active roster out on the field at the same time. It confused the hell out of Brees and they totally punked us out that day, defensively.

Was that Cleveland or Cincy?
The hail mary by Couch still makes me quezzy!

It was actually Minnesota, Cincy, and Carolina, but the Cleveland loss was a little earlier.
My point was more that we played them in our good years recently and still are 1-2

Well, the road team has won the last 4 in the series, so the Saints are good if that trend holds.

2002: Browns win @ NOLA
2006: Saints win @ Cleveland

The game in Nola, 2010, was the game that Rob Ryan unveiled his amoeba defense and the O-line had no clue who to block. One of the more frustrating games we have played in the Payton/Brees era.
