Thursday night football has always, and will likely continue to suuuuuuuccccck. I've almost lost total interest in the NFL. I will still watch Saints games, but that's about it. Could care less about anything else NFL related.
Still enjoy college football and I can watch an interesting competitive random game, even if I don't care about the schools.

The amount by which I care about the NFL has plummeted. The amount by which I actually watch NFL games has risen. I really don't have a lot going on

If you and your buddy need to be on the phone with each other during games, this sounds like a very personal issue and not a broad general issue.

There actually is a correlation to an increase in soft tissue injuries, but it isn't a considerable one and generally not long term type injuries.
