A guy they could have gotten where they were originally picking.

It's Nik Solterbobby from OD.

Confounding as to why they traded up to select this guy.

I’m starting to see why we only have 1 Super Bowl in our lifetime

Not really, it’s in their DNA.
He checks all boxes.
He could have been drafted later.
He comes from a small school.
He plays OL.
No one had heard of him.

Small School, High RAS, can play anywhere on the line

I've about had it with people saying this about every guy we pick.

I didn't know you were there listening to the draft rumors that are circulating. The more you know, or in your case the less you know.
Edit: and you were wrong the run on Ofeensive linemen started and the kid wouldn't have been there.

He also could have been clearly the highest graded player on their board and felt getting rid of a late 5th was worth making sure they got a versatile Olineman for much needed depth

Saints ALWAYS select someone out of left field in every single draft that could have been picke later on.

And he might be the next Jahri Evans.
Time will tell.

I think the frustration is less about who they picked and more about giving away a draft pick to move up when they probably could have gotten several comparable players had they stayed put. I'm no draft expert, but by just looking at the ESPN position rankings, there are about 8 other OT/OG rated about the same or better than the guy they picked. The value of moving up just doesn't make sense.

Every single time. If they don’t take that guy at 103, he definitely would have been there at 104
