Lived there four years. S'port-o-potty is a Cowboy town. It's sickening to go to a sports bar and see 80-90% cowboy jersey's.

Bandwagoners
Shreveport is a joke. Shreveport has no loyalty for their state.
If Saints wouldn't have won anything last season .. The Count would be 20,838 in favor of the cowboys.

There sure are a bunch of people here who are butt-sore about Shreveport. I promise you there are alot of Saints fans, and there are a lot of Cowboys fans. Get over it..... Let the Cowgirl fans mourn their team, and let the Saints fans celebrate theirs. Just bc you live closer to the Saints organization, doesnt make you a better fan. Bunch of damn 4 year olds...

I'm not sore. I'm stating the truth.
When the Saints were perennial losers, which team would you see on TV?

The Cowboys....
So youre saying that that is the Saints fans fault? My point is just bc a Saints fan lives in Shreveport, doesnt make him any less of a fan. Its the networks you should be mad at, not the fans or the city. Like I said....butt-sore.

They need to cut streetpot off and flick it like a booger to the west.

"I'm please with the voting results."
Me, too! It's a 2 to 1 margin in a town that is 2 hours closer to Dallas than New Orleans AND is also a town that has a decent number of folks from East Texas living there.

I was born and raised in Shreveport. My Granddad made sure I was brought up as a Saints fan. I've been a Saints fan since I was around 9. I will always be a Saints fan.
Most Dallas fans my age (36) that are from Shreveport are true bandwagon Cowboy fans. They jumped on board in the early 90's when they were winning Superbowls. I sure as hell don't remember many of them rooting for the Cowboys when they were 1-15.

What happened on the voting last year is this. Usually the Cowturds pre-empt the Saints on the local Fox affiliate. On the first vote apathetic Cow fans got caught with their pants down because the long suffering Saints fans were fired up to vote. Then after pissing and moaning the Cowboy fans came to vote and barely squeaked by the second time. Probably due to advertisers, I believe the voting contest was pulled. Also, towards the end of the season, when Saints were flying high, on one occasion I think the station made the decision to play Saints. A lot of times we get lucky due to a 3 o'clock game or MNF.
It was nice not having to worry about that crap with the 2 spotlight games the first two weeks.
I think Shreveport is about 60/40 Saints, in the hood and country north and west of Shreveport its higher for the Boys, and in LSU type circles its much higher for the Saints.

I've lived in Shreveport for a year after Katrina and there are more Saints fans than Cowboys fans. But it didn't used to be like that. The way I understand it is like this, the FOX station out of Shreveport gets broadcasted to North La, South Arkansas and even Northeast Texas. People in Arkansas and Texas wanted Cowboys games on their FOX stations, so it made more sense for FOX to put the Dallas game on to please ALL of their viewers not just the ones in Louisiana. Therefore the people in North La never saw the Saints games on TV, so why how could they follow them? That's why you have so many Cowboy fans in Shreveport, the Cowboys were the only team they could see. Slowly that has changed as the Saints are being seen more and more, and now the Saints are the most popular team there. The great thing about this is now people in Arkansas, Texas, and even Oklahoma are getting Saints games and not Cowboys games. I'm sure Jerry Jones loves that.

One funny thing I didn't know was that people love Jerry Jones in Arkansas, because its his alma mater, and he built up his fortune in O&G in Arky, so when he bought and built up the Cowboys, I believe that brought over a lot of Arkansas fans, or at least got them more interested.

Dear Paul Allen,
You sir, are an arse. A person from BR, who feels the need to advertise that they love "Roland Garros" stadium in gay Paris, while putting down thriving, large towns in their own state.
People from outside our great state already run down our state enough (including BR, aka "cancer alley"), without people in the state fueling the fire.

Dear Paul Allen,
How profound. Get back to work, rookie.
