Somebody tell me about him? I never saw him mentioned on here and he wasn't on the list of best available from this board.

What did we get?

Productive and athletic DE. But seems scouts think he should have been way more dominant given his measurables and talent. I like the pick.

What? He had 11 sacks in each of the past two seasons, and most sacks in ND history.

4.5 speed and 6’5 260.

Very good pick and exactly what we need.

All-America with 7 forced fumbles in 2 years. 6-5 265lbs with sub 4.6 speed.

I understand that Coach Pete Jenkins is impressed with Foskey, so that's good enough for me.

I watched ND a lot and he was always a guy I really noticed. Very athletic and always making plays. It seems he needs a little more finesse on his pass rush game and run stopping needs some work. Evidently high character IQ guy but that’s just what I’ve read about him. Seems like a good Davenport replacement but what the hell do I know? I’m a Cop and not a football coach so take it fwiw. Im just glad we aren’t throwing away assets yet.

From nola.com yesterday about today’s possibilities:
quote:

Notre Dame DE Isaiah Foskey (6-5, 264) The pre-draft rankings for Foskey were all over the map, but he’s definitely the type of player the Saints have historically coveted. He fits their defensive end size prototype, tested very well at the combine (9.61 RAS), racked up massive numbers in college (22 sacks his last two seasons) and was a team captain. That’s a lot of checked boxes. The Saints went defensive interior in the first round, would they dip back into the defensive line well in Round 2?

Check my history, been here a minute. I dont have the bandwidth to deep dive into draft prospects and I know nothing about Notre Dame, but I know some of yall do. So I asked.

I did read alot about who the Saints might pick and I dont recall ever seeing his name on this board.

We needed edge help, so hopefully he produces.

Notre Dame has solid players, I mean Kelly was coach there, so, this should be a solid pickup. You're not reaching like they did with Davenport and now it seems Turner from small Texas schools.
