Who did YOU want to pick at 9 and 40? Claim them now and PROVE you're smarter than Mickey

I expect a lot of gleeful 2nd guessing and told-you-so's over the course of this season. If you plan to join in (and I know you do), stake your claim now on what you would have done different with those picks.

For me:
9. Jalon Walker
40. Sticking with Shough.

Feel free to provide your alternate choices for any other Saints picks, if you want. I also wanted CB Azareye'h Thomas instead of Broughton at pick 71.

BTW if I had to make the pick now, I'd probably stick with Banks over Walker, because Banks has been playing well and Walker is injured. But at the time, I was all in on Jalon Walker.

9. Probably Tyler Warren but Banks was fine
40. Donovan Ezeiruaku and really didn't want Shough

I wanted Walker. But I’m happy with Banks.

Life’s too short to live in the what ifs.

The play at 9 was always to trade back but of course Mickey has never been able to make that happen.

Plenty of higher upside picks at 9. Walker, Warren, Mykel Williams, and I also really like Jihaad Campbell.
Banks was a need and he was a safe pick so it’s hard to argue against it.

At 40 I liked, Mike Green, Will Johnson, Trey Amos, Scourton, Alfred Collins. Half of these guys were first round talent. It’s amazing we were too scared to let Shough fall to 70. Especially when in predraft Moore was very adamant that we would draft for value and take the best player available. Instead we drafted a safety net and a huge project prospect.

Either Moore is a liar or Mickey is making all the calls.

I liked Campbell but Banks just fine. Didn’t really care after that. My days of looking way down the draft board are long gone with current schedule.

In all honesty this is how my top 3 rounds would have gone.

9 - Kelvin Banks (I was high on walker, but I didn't think banks was gonna be available with Carolina picking before us and I thought tet is overrated)
40 - Will Johnson (I get the knee issue, but dude had top 10 pedigree)
71 - Landon Jackson (he won't produce right away, but give him two years and he will be a really good OLB)
93 - Jonas Sanker (still the right guy to be nickel/s)

I wanted ezeiruakau in the 2nd and shavon revel in the 3rd.

Banks was fine at 9. He is going to be really good.

I get why they took a qb at 40 but we will see.

Banks is only 21, youngest player on our roster. Just so happens to have 40+ career starts under his belt as well. He has “best tackle in the league” upside

I would’ve taken Tate Rutledge at 40 to really shore up the OL unit

I’m taking Banks at 9 in 10 redrafts. He will be that good.

I was good with just about any player at 9. Didn’t want Warren or Jeanty but wouldn’t have melted down.

I like Taylor, Burden, Amos in round 2. Absolutely didn’t want Will Johnson, way too many red flags. Was fine with Shough though, would have been fine with Sanders too.

Jesus dude, pick two. Any of us can list a dozen players we liked, but the Saints didn't have that many picks. Have some balls: pick one at 9 and one at 40, and live with the shame if Mickey Loomis did a better job.

My crystal ball is doing a lot better than Mickey and the rest of the facepainters

Shough would’ve been there at 70. Not that we should’ve drafted him there either but we lost value by playing scared.
