I know, haters will hate

But, if the Rams win out how do the Saints get the #2?

Could rest some guys the last 2 weeks if so

IF the Rams win out we could lock up 2 seed after the MNF Carolina game but at that point we'd still have a shot at the 1. I don't know why we are talking about locking up a 2 seed TBH, we are plenty capable of getting the 1

We need to win at least three** more games to lock that up as long as everyone else within reach continues to win.

**Didn't realize the Bears had the better NFC record.

If we win and bears lose this week, would that lock it up?

I don’t think so. I believe da Bears have the tiebreaker over us.

If the saints are one game back at the end with the rams playing SFO it hardly seems worth playing anyone who is banged up.

Since we don't play the Bears head to head, the next tie breaker is conference games.

Since we can only lose one afc game, and the Bears have lost two, that means if we finish with the same record the Bears would have the better conference record, and thus the tie breaker.

So yes to clinch the two seed we must make sure the Bears cannot tie our record, so currently the number is 3 (ties aside). Any combo of wins by us or losses by them that adds up to 3 clinches it.

That's why the Bear/Rams game is sort of a win/win for us (as long as there isn't a tie). A Rams win helps us get closer to a first round bye. A Bears win (and is beating TB) puts us back in first (but also could cause a 3 way tie if things go funny for us and the Rams).

Edit:
In the event of a 3 way tie between us, the Rams, and the Bears (regardless of who wins Sunday), The Bears would claim the first seed, and we'd get the second.

That's because the Rams have already played all of their afc games and won, meaning the Bears would have the better conference record than both of us.

Then we'd get the two seed because of the head to head win.

First round bye bro. We all want the 1 seed...but it’s also very important not to slip past 2.

Bears vs Rams is a big game for playoff/seeding purposes. With four games left, no real need to start contemplating all the scenarios until after this week IMO.

Really, we need to get back in our grove and beat Tampa in the second of three road games and get into the playoffs. That’s what I’m more focused on.

Yeah I’m torn

My gut tells me we won’t win out... so I prefer locking up a bye even if it’s a 2.

I do think we still win super bowl this year though.

After seeing the atmosphere LA had in that Chiefs game.... I would not be confident if we had to go there in the playoffs

I guess I feel like the Rams/Bears game is sort of a win win. Bears win and it gives us a clear path to the 1. They lose and we take care of business we basically lock up the 2.

I am hoping the bears win but it’s fine if they don’t.
