Perhaps the path he took to get here is the reason he looked good.
I’d be wary of setting yourself up for disappointment. His development won’t be linear, he will lose to some of these teams that fans think he should win. There will be stinkets. The deck is still stacked against him with this roster, so just stay cool
Absolutely this

Yea, I agree with this. It definitely has taken the pressure off him and he doesn’t have to look over his shoulders. We are definitely going to lose games because the roster isn’t there but us losing while him looking good is the best case scenario because we need impact guys.

Doesn't matter what age. Bad habits form and because he didn't know how to prep or what to expect, he was bound to form some bad ones.
Hell he still might but at least he had 8 weeks of prep. Patrick Mahomes even said so himself that time was invaluable.

3-7
Oyster was going to be raw for the first few weeks anyway.
KM did the right think sitting him until we couldn't do the usually 7-9 8-8 record and not get in the playoffs or upgrade with blue chips.

I agree but I would like to hear from some of the experts here that told us we completely wasted the 40th pick on a QB that will never play. Not partially wasted the 40th pick, COMPLETELY wasted the 40th pick.

Well I think the Bears and Buccaneers game were partly Rattler's fault , so possible 2 games there.
I think we could have a shot against the Cardinals if he played like he did against Carolina.

It wasn’t clear in preseason is the issue. Game wise I didn’t see much difference.
The upside for Shough was ABSOLUTELY head and shoulders above Rattler. They were about even in every other way (I will give you that)…..but if they were that close and Shough had more upside, common sense would indicate that you go with the upside.
Especially being that he is a 26yo rookie that you wanted, specifically, for his maturity and that he had faced adversity.
In the end, what’s done is done, but it doesn’t make much sense to draft him specifically for his ability to deal with this kind of situation/adversity…….then protect him from it
I think that we have seen KM make some questionable decisions with personnel, playcalling, time management, and some of the practice intensity stuff in camp. That said we have to remember that he is a rookie HC that is trying to figure himself out as a HC. I think he will figure it out.
One thing to look at is that, by all accounts, this locker room is still all in……even through this season not producing much in the win department. That’s a credit to the staff (at least as of now).

I agree, but like you said what’s done is done. Maybe the bad start will help us out come draft time.

Yep, I was really worried that Moore was going to wait until the after the bye to make the switch…..which would have been absolutely stupid. Having him play a good bit of the 2nd half of Tampa and start last weekend…….at least gave them some game film to look at and make adjustments.
There were some in the local media saying “5-6 games will be plenty to evaluate Shough”, and I kept saying “aren’t y’all the ones saying that wasn’t enough to evaluate Rattler”?
I actually think the evaluation part can happen in that time, but if he is the guy……let him get through a lot of the growing pains THIS year. That’s why I was against Rattler starting at all. If Rattler had been a seasoned veteran that Shough could sit behind and learn from, fine, but that wasn’t the case.
I understand his premise behind doing it this way….. But I think the experience would have been more valuable IMO.
