I was cleaning up my bookmarks and I ran across a thread where I made the post you see quoted below.

It was posted back on the 3rd of November but I thought I would repost it here because it seems especially relevant given the recent events that have transpired.

Especially ironic is that the topic was, "How utterly rigged will Sunday’s game be?" in reference to the 1st game the Saints had against the Rams. OP was right but his timing was off. Needs to bring his ESP to the shop for a timing adjustment.

quote:

Here let me help you.

2014 Atlanta breaks ground on a new stadium.
2017, August, Failclowns play first game in new stadium.
2017 Atalanta plays in SB
They had only made the SB once before in their 53 year history.

2014 Minneapolis breaks ground on new stadium.
2015 Vikings inexplicably go 11-5 after going 7-9 and 5-10-1 in the previous 2 seasons. Last time they made the playoffs before 2015? 2012. Just so happened to be the year the Gov. of Minnesota announced an agreement to build a new stadium.

2010 ballot measure in City of Santa Clara passes to build new stadium for 49ers.
2011 49ers go 13-3 and to the NFC championship game for the first time in 14 years.
2012, Feb., financing is secured for new stadium.
49ers go to SB. First time in 18 years.
2013 construction started. 49ers go 12-4 NFC Champ. appearance.
2014. New stadium finished. See ya, bitch.
49ers go 8-8, 5-11, 2-14, 6-10. Cant make this shite up.
Prior to this 3 year string of working out this highly contested stadium deal, the 49ers had gone a combined 46-82(0.36%) the previous 8 seasons.

2007 MetLife Stadium broke ground for the NY(HQ of the NFL) Giants.
2007 They win the SB.
2010 stadium is finished.
2011, congratulations. You get another SB!

2006 construction on Jerrys World begins.
2007 Americas Most Obnoxious Team wins 13 games for the first time since 1992. Previous 2 seasons they were 9-7.
2009 Jerrys Latelife Crisis opens and Cowgirls reel off an 11-5 record. Something they had only achieved 1 time in the prior 13 years. That being the year after stadium construction began. They then went 6-10 and 8-8 for the next 4 years.

2005, Sept. broke ground on Colts new stadium.
2006 Won SB. It was 1970 and they were called the Baltimore Colts the last time that had happened.
2008 stadium opened.
2009 back to SB.

2006 Cardinals new stadium opens. Season after next theyre in the SB. This is one of the worst franchises in NFL history. They were only there twice before and that was in 1947/48 and it wasnt even called the SB. And there were only 10 teams in the league.
Theyve only made the playoffs 10 times. Theyve been a franchise since 1920.

Im tired so Ill stop here but since you responded to a post where I had made mention of my first woke AF NFL experience I feel compelled to expound on the expansion Jags and Panthers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars came into the league in 1995 and started out with a 4-12 record. They then went 9-7 and the AFC Champ game, 11-5, 11-5 and 14-2 and to the Champ. game again. The next 5 seasons they won 7, 6, 6, 5 and 9 games before returning to the playoffs the following year.

The Carolina Panthers entered the league in 1995 as well(both broke the record for most wins by an expansion team) and went 7-9. The very next year they went to the NFC Championship game. In their 2nd year in existence.
It took the Saints 21 years just to get to the playoffs, 34 years to win one and 40 to see an NFC Championship game.

2 years?!

I guess I need to add the L.A. Rams in here somewhere.

Expect the Chargers to be moved again if the Rams fanbase explodes and theres no carry over for the Chargers. I believe the NFL was hedging their bets and doubling down with TWO franchises this time around in L.A.

Also, watch for the Raiders in the next few years. They got a new stadium. Despite being horrible for a generation now, expect a meteoric rise culminating with a SB appearance or win.

We see you NFL.

We see you.

ETA: But wait! There's more!

Add the Eagles

Lincoln Financial Field
1999: Pennsylvania announces funding
2000: Eagles release plans for new stadium, City of Phili agrees
2001: Break ground
2003: Stadium opens

Eagles Records
1997 - 1999: 14-33-1
2000: 11-5 Loss in Div Round
2001 - 2003: 35-13; Losses in NFCCG each year
2004 (Year after stadium opens): Loss in Super Bowl XXXIX

Seattle Seahawks

CentryLink Field
1997: Paul Allen buys Seahawks and requests new stadium
1998: Public funding was approved and ground broken
2002: Stadium opened

Seahawks Records:
1994 - 1998: 37-43
1999: 9-7 Loss in WC Round
2000-2002: 22-26 No Playoffs
2003: 10-6 Loss in WC Round
2004: 9-7 Loss in WC Round
2005: 13-3 Loss in Super Bowl XL

Detroit was the stadium build before SEA, but they did not have the same success. (Sucks to be DET)

The Patriots stadium broke ground in 2000, opened in 2002. We all know this story

Here are some more “coincidences” for you all to chew on.

In 2005, future HOF running back Jerome Bettis announces he is retiring after the season. The Steelers go on to win the Super Bowl that year beating the Seahawks in what was, start to finish, the most lopsided officiated game I have ever watched. It was obvious who was “supposed” to win that game.

In 2012 future HOF linebacker Ray Lewis announces he is retiring after the season. The Ravens go on to win the Super Bowl that year. Wow another fairy tale ending.

In 2015 it is highly anticipated that future HOF quarterback Peyton Manning will be playing is final season. Injury and age had caused his play to deteriorate greatly(worse statistical year of career by far). The old quarterback was a shell of his former self. But wouldn’t you know, the Denver Broncos manage to win the Super Bowl that year. The legend goes out a champion.

The NFL seems to be able to strike gold with these feel good stories time and time again. Coincidence?

If Drew Brees was smart he would announce his retirement before the season, and make this his final season. The NFL sure loves a feel good story.

The Saints had pretty much been the least successful franchise in the NFL. New Orleans suffers the worst natural disaster in US history. The first year after Katrina that the Saints move back into the Superdome they miracously make it all the way to the NFC championship game for the first time ever. Thus beginning the most successful run in franchise history culminating in a Super Bowl championship a few years later.

What a feel good story for the NFL.

Coincidence?

I have been one of the main one denying this for so long but after this year it's getting really hard not to call shenanigans

So the Saints either need a new stadium or another catastrophic hurricane to get back to the Superbowl? That's unfortunate.

I've been seeing this trend as well. All of this said and not to mention a wealthy company with a Not for Profit tax status, which pressures tax payers to foot the bill for their new stadiums. It's ridiculous

And in 2003 the Bear’s completely redid their stadium (for worse) and were granted to beat the saints and play the colts who just recently planed to build a new stadium for the Super Bowl.

And we can’t forget about the now beloved Patriots. Prior Foxborough stadium was a dump, the patriots have two Super Bowl loses. The works are in for Gillette stadium, the tuck rule comes flying out of some refs a-hole and the Patriots win the Super Bowl.

Hrmm, that's interesting.

It's been obvious for years to people that pay attention. Raiders will be successful. A SB wouldn't surprise me.

Did Strahan announce he was retiring before they beat NE in the super bowl or after? Would be another neat coincidence

Yeah it was a feel good story when the Saints won the SB. Not so much when the commish punishes the shite out of them with death penalty lite a few years later
