The fact that we had such a stacked team for so many years with Drew and could not get another SB, OR, knowing that ride is over and now it could take YEARS to get back to competing for the postseason?

The ride being over and other than lucking into a cheap ascending QB, we are pretty much screwed. But hey who wouldn’t take Davenport over Lamar Jackson…

Sean Payton took Davenport over Lamar Jackson in 2018's draft.

That is astonishing.

Drew & Payton choking in the playoffs every year (except 2018) is the the hardest pill to swallow.

This team is bad now. I can accept that. It was gonna happen because Drew was overdue retiring and the Saints front office did NOTHING to acquire his replacement.

But the pitiful performances in the playoffs choking year after year I will never be able to accept.

Agree that only having 1 ring is the tougher pill to swallow. Most teams struggle immediately replacing a HoF QB for a variety of reasons. Hell, look around the league at how many teams have been chasing that replacement: Fabre to Rodgers is the anomaly and they only have 1 SB for each of their HoF QBs

One difficult eventuality that I expect will be that the Saints FO and roster will obviously need to be blown up and re-built, HOWEVER, for various reasons, those with the authority to make that decision will NOT make that decision, and the status quo of hopelessness will remain as a constant.

The organism will eventually become deceased through natural causes, and the resulting decomposition will offend the nose, because those with authority will continue to refuse to bury the corpse.

At long last, there will be a new Ownership and perhaps a move to a different NFL city.

We can go down a long list of people we could have drafted.

We would be in the dame boat as many others. Just say that the Saints would have drafted Lamar Jackson in 2018. So he would have sat on the bench for 2018, 2019 and 2020.

You and or Sean could not show Drew the door. He was going to always be able to leave on his terms.

The same thing that has happened in Green Bay and San Fran.

Has Tampa taken a replacement for Brady?
Does Atlanta really have their plan after Mariotta?
Carolina does not have a QB?

I'd imagine the cumshots Brees, Payton and Thomas are giving loomis and Gayle are pretty bad

Easy to back and say this now but at the time everyone was ready to melt big time if Lamar’s name was called. Just the rumors that we were trading up for him had people melting. Every one on here thought he was going to be a bust.

That's not what matters Payton was the coach, Payton made the decision and now Payton is on TV saying something along the lines "we are both free agents, I'd love to coach him"

If possible I would cut everyone tomorrow just to be able to sign Lamar and tell Payton to frick off

That’s a retarded take. QB is probably the hardest position to predict coming into the nfl. Obviously everyone was wrong about Lamar. So you saying Payton should say he doesn’t want to coach him because he passed on him in the draft? Lol that’s dumb af

Please point to where I said anything remotely close to that? You're dumb af since you couldn't read

But yes there was a shot at Payton in there since he supposedly this great quarterback guru and yet the guy he drafted before Jackson has spent a good majority of time on work comp

I asked if that is what you were implying since you seem angry that Payton said he would like to coach him now and you would love to blow up the team to spite him.

Like in an interview would you like him to say “oh no I was wrong about him so I wouldn’t like to coach him” lol of course he’s going to say he’d love to coach him
