What happened to Houston wanting players in the trade?

aside from the 3 first round picks, it's just a 3rd and a 5th....we could've kept CJGJ all along

We probably weren't giving up 3 1sts

I feel like they could have gotten more as well. Starting players plus three 1sts. I understand everyone says it’s Watson’s choice, but you telling me he wouldn’t have settled for a second choice? They should have played hardball, because I bet he would have caved.

I thought they'd at least get a couple of second rounders out of it

There also sending 2 or more “additional resources” as well.

the deal was for two 1sts two 2nds, and 3rd &5th plus players
to upraise that, you have to go to 3 firsts but it wasnt all that much more since it didnt include those two 2nds

Houston is damn lucky Watson didn't decide that he didn't want Cleveland to give any compensation. The Browns would have ended up with Watson for nothing.

46 mil/yr guaranteed limited the Texans leverage. No one else was going to match that so once the Browns offered they were the only team in the running. The Texans pretty much had to take whatever package they could get.

They gave too much power to Watson. Typical Texans

I am assuming the Browns were offering so much more guaranteed money than anyone else that Watson used his no trade clause against them. I mean they still got 3 first round picks so

[MSU] Full trade terms: #Texans are trading QB Deshaun Watson and a 4th-round pick to the #Browns for THREE first-round picks, a 3rd-round pick and a 5th-round pick.

Our picks wouldnt have been as valuable so they would have wanted some talent.

So the 3rd & 5th are instead of the additional starters not included with, gotcha. Still a shitload when it also includes 250 Million guaranteed!!
JESUS H man. Thats insane, 3 Time MVP A-Rod didn't even get that.

With a no trade clause, it really was not up to the GM. Watson obviously wanted the top cash & got it. Sorry to see Jarvis not get the opportunity to play with a real QB.
